I bought the Shimano Solora 2 Piece Spinning Rod as a gift to my daughter to replace a rod with a broken rod tip. For twenty dollars this was an ideal replacement rod. I was very surprised by its quality. The rod is nice and stiff and has good sensitivity so you feel those soft bites. I have several rods that I paid a lot more money for and this rod I would rank close to them. Buy the Shimano Solora 2 Piece Spinning Rod and you will not be sorry because you get more than you pay for with this great rod.Wouldn't it be great if Amazon (or someone) sold replacement rod tips. If you are like me, you've probably broken rod tips and had to replace the entire rod because you cannot find repacement rod tips. So if you have to replace a rod tip this rod is an inexpensive way to get a good quality rod.

Nice medium action 6 ft 6in fishing rod my only problem with it is that it doesn't have a bait clip besides that it should be a good walleye rod

As described. Its Shimano can't go wrong. This rod is good for 16" + trout but you can't load it up with lots of weight like my other rod which is Abu Garcia where I can put 5oz easy. If you add weights to this rod it bends where my AG is solid like a Cannon.

I purchased two 6'6" Solara spinning rods, one medium and one medium heavy. My wife uses the medium and so far she has caught more flounder and larger flounder in the light surf and inlets than I have. This is proof positive that the fast action tip and the feel of this rod is as advertised, told her one time how to cast and she has perfected that (using a Shimano Rapid Fire 4000 reel) and told her how to "feel" a flounder hitting her red-headed jig with 4" white curly tail body and she gets it. This is a woman that had never salt water fished in her life. I look at the high dollar rods advertised for over $100 each and many over $200 and then think about these two rods at $14 each delivered and wonder, "can those rods be that much better or lighter?" Proof is in the ability to catch a fish and enjoy "catching" as well as "fishing". Our 8 yr old grandson uses a 6' FX Shimano and is even more skilled than his grandmother. These rods are value purchases and I recommend them to any and all fishermen regardless of experience or age.

I just got this Shimano Solora 2 Piece Spinning Rod- 7ft. Medium action and mounted a Shimano Sienna 4000FD on it. It feels somewhat responsive and casts fairly well for a stiff action. This Shimano Solora seems sound and should provide a good amount of fishing. This rod looks good, but it lacks a hook keeper and any winding adornments. I'll just have to use an add on rubber hook keeper, but there goes a star off the rating. The Price: $19.83 with free shipping for Prime members is almost too reasonable. I still prefer my Diawa Sweepfire rods in a 7ft. rod with Medium Action. They have great response, look better and have hook keepers. What rod doesn't have a hook keeper? If I find that I need to revisit this review, I will return and give or remove a Star of the rating if necessary. Good fishing, tight lines!

I like a 2 piece spinning rod for traveling so it fits in the car easily. This rod is great for that and holds together nicely.
