A great insight to a great man
I’ve always had a soft spot for Bobby Robson and as soon as I heard this film was being made I knew for sure I’d be buying it to find out more about the mans story. This film touches on his time at Ipswich and with England at the 1986 an 1990 world cups. His periods at Porto, PSV are mentioned but not in great deal. Most of the focus is on his short but very successful period at Barcelona and gives great insight into the way he was treated by the board, fans and the way he conducted himself throughout. The film also tells of his battles with cancer throughout his periods from Barcelona to his time at Newcastle and beyondThere are great anicdotes from many of today’s big names as you’d expect and it’s very poingnant watching at times.I have to admit I found it quite emotional at times and found myself deeply invested. Despite knowing the result against West Germany at Italia 90 I was almost willing England to win the shootout if only for him (btw I’m Scottish) and must say I have a newfound admiration for all that he did. He was a man of immense kindness, courage, dignity and strength and is deeply missed.I wholeheartedly recommend this and defy anyone who isn’t deeply moved by this story.

5 Star
The producer, director and team that made this programme need to be congratulated. You are very talented and good at what you do. The people you chose to give interviews gave a very human feeling to this programme, and bridged the gap between the professional footballers / managers and the mass of spectators who never get to fully understand the trials and tribulations of that industry. As a football fan, I must say that the football footage is glorious. While that may seem an unusual adjective to use, all I can say is that some of the very best players in the game at the peak of their career appear on this programme, and what a sight they are to behold. All of the people interviewed spoke so eloquently and honestly. The makers of this programme achieved thier objectives incredibly well, they told the story of an English gentleman, a dedicated talented passionate football professional and a decent man extremely well and enjoyably. Thank you.

Great story of a good man
I enjoy a good football themed documentary and this story of Bobby Robson's career hits the mark. It's a timely reminder of just how successful he was as a manager. Most football fans will remember his famous Ipswich side's FA and UEFA cup wins but I bet, like me, lots of people had forgotten he spent two years at PSV Eindhoven, winning the Dutch league both seasons. He repeated the feat at Porto, delivering two consecutive league titles. Robson then got the Barcelona job, replacing legendary Johan Cruyff. I'll say no more about the football. What comes across very well is how understanding and kind Robson was with players, always able to tailor his management skills to get the best out of his teams. The only part of the documentary that jars slightly are a couple of Paul Gascoigne's contributions (just my opinion). All in all it's great viewing though.

Beautiful documentary
Beautiful documentary about my favourite England manager. This imand the robbo documentaries have fast become my favourite documentaries about two of the most famous Robson's you will ever hear of in football and to hear Jose morinho talk about this wonderful man is truly something to listen to. Bobby Robson was one of the finest managers our country has ever had and if not that, then the best of in my opinion, the past 50 years...a man, who like the other great Robson, played or managed with all his heart and soul...this was simply wonderful to watch...and to hear Jose morinho, the special one, refer to Bobby Robson as Mr. Robson was just wonderful ..that gesture says so much. Fans need to put their faith in our England managers who manage this way..he was very special and this documentary shows you just how much.when i watched how they got rid of bobby robson from barcelona and i watch how our team want rid of gareth southgate, it is a shame that we treat people who treat people that way, people who give so much. the search for instant glory in football has always been there. it has not got England that far. we have a great manager now and we had a Great Manager then. but more than football, there is something to be said about how we treat all people.

Fantastic - best sports documentary in years.
I had the privilege of watching this incredible movie at a pre-release screening. What an amazing story. The film captures everything that I remember about Bobby Robson. He was vilified by the press, he took on the biggest challenges in football and life, and never shied away from any of them. Whether you're a football fan or not, you can't help but be captivated by the humanity of the man, but don't take it from me. Gascoigne, Ferguson, Guardiola and Mourinho say all that needs to be said. I've watched all of the big sports documentaries and this is up there with the very best. Superb.

BOBBY DAZZLER .....
Wonderful and poignant reminder of what a great man we've lost, superb from start to finish,a treasure to keep ,a real life George Bailey who really had a wonderful life, with his only regret not spending more time with his family, but the man lived and breathed football,so we can forgive him for that,he simply had no choice in the matter, but behind every great man ,there is an even greater woman, no truer word ever uttered in this classic example Lady Elsie Robson, take a well deserved bow...
