GeeekPi Ultra Thin ICE Tower Cooler for Raspberry Pi 5

This little cooler arrived packed into a small 52Pi branded cardboard box with everything (including extras) you need to get it attached up and running. It's well made, and it clears everything that it’s not supposed to touch on the Pi 5 while also getting full contact with 5 chips it sets out to provide cooling for, which is actually a couple more than even the official cooler has provisions for. The two additional chips it attaches to are the Ethernet controller and the I/O controller chip, and although cooling them isn't strictly necessary, there's no harm in doing it.Given the fact that this is substantially bigger than the official Pi 5 cooler, in both thermal mass and the attached fan, it’s obvious enough that this will perform better, and it does indeed work well, even with the pi under full load in an extended benchmark. The downside is the thicker profile means that you’re not going to be able to attach the same hats as you would be able to with the OEM Raspberry cooler, likewise some cases are going to struggle with the added size, but if cooling is your main priority this is a solid choice regardless.Attaching it is simple, you just need to attach a few thermal pads to the marked chips in the provided instructions and use the nylon screws to attach the cooler into place via the same holes the official cooler’s pins use. Everything needed is provided, and the fan plugs right into the 4-pin fan port on the Pi 5 itself, and it’s automatically managed by the Pi so that it’ll only turn on if needed, like modern GPUs.The cooler comes with an entirely optional acrylic base pad and all the hardware needed to attach it, which is a nice inclusion for those who don’t already have a mount or protective case on the Pi itself.Happy to recommend this one!

With each evolution of the Pi it becomes more powerful so the need for a cooler in some of its many applications becomes essential to get through most out of it. This little cooler is designed cool the SOC, the RAM and I/O.Inside the box you have the cooler with a fan fitted, fixings to attach the cooler, thermal pads, a small screwdriver, and a user guide. The cold plate is alloy with what looks like a single heat pipe to the fin stack.A nice little cooler kit.

It is bigger than the standard cooler, but very well designed and engineered for maximum cooling. It comes with everything needed to install it, risers, machine screws and thermal transfer pads of varying thickness - follow the instructions to use the right pads on the right chips and you cannot go wrong.I'm very happy with this, and rate it five stars.The price at the time of review was around £18 which is reasonable value for high performance.

I've used this as the cooling solution for a few weeks now, just as a bare pi board and the fan is still working well. Not much dust at all on the heat sink.Performance is top notch as you'd expect. No issues with it, even under prolonged load.The case I was using was too small for this though, so be aware you'll need one of the taller cases to use it with.

The GeeekPi Ultra Thin ICE Tower Cooler for Raspberry Pi 5 came the next day.The cooler was well packed and came with all the fitting and instructions.I found the cooler kit was quite easy to fit and straightforward to do and I am sure it will keep the raspberry pi cooler and we are pleased with it.

Compared to the simple fan on top of a plastic lid that is the cooling for my Raspberry Pi4 this ICE tower cooler, for the Pi5 is a revolution. GeeekPi's "Integrated Cooling Engine" for the Pi5 uses a copper pipe to transfer heat from the aluminium soaker which sits on thermal pads (provided) to an array of very thin fins through which the fan will blow if the CPU temperature rises above 60 degrees centigrade.Actually, GeeekPi now make a similar ICE for the Pi4 so the temptation to get one is strong.Installation is straightforward. A screwdriver, riser screws and the thermal pads (including spares!) are provided along with instructions. There are also videos on YouTube. This is a must-have accessory for a serious user.

This is a really well made heatsync and fan. It comes with full instructions, screwdriver and multiple heatpads. So nothing else required to fit to the pi. There is a nicely made block of metal to perfectly fit over the Pis chips without interfering with other connectors, however it will be tricky to run any additional display/camera ribbon connectors. The PCIe connector is still easily accessible.I planning to run a number of computer vision and machine learning algorithms so extra cooling on the pi5 is essential.The kit is easy to fit and the fan is pleasantly quiet. I have not had time to do full cooling tests yet, but I optimistic this will keep the pi in good health. I will update when I have full data and results.But so far, highly recommend

I gave this as a gift to my father however, as a responsible product tester, i was in attendence when it was installed.It performs marvellously and is supremely better than what he had before.The limitations he previously had to be mindful of (thermodynamics), were released, now the only limitation is the hardware itself. (yes i know it's still thermodynamics, just not so 'in your face').This was easy to install and is very tidy and so it should be.top marks

Als begeisterter Tech-Enthusiast kann ich jetzt unvoreingenommen über die Kühlleistung dieser kleinen Maschine berichten.Nachdem ich den Kühler aus der Verpackung geholt habe, war ich direkt beeindruckt von der wertigen Verarbeitung. Das Ding sieht nicht nur cool aus, sondern bringt auch eine ordentliche Leistung mit. Ich habe ihn gleich auf meinen Raspberry Pi 5 geschnallt und die Tests gestartet. Nach einigen Tagen intensiven Einsatzes – von Gaming über Streaming und Netzwerkeinsatz – kann ich sagen: Er hat seine Sache richtig gut gemacht!Der Kühler hat ein horizontal ausgerichtetes Design, das die Wärmeabfuhr maximiert. Wenn ich es richtig verstehe, hat er ganz schön viel mit der Umgebungsluft zu tun. Und das merkt man! Die ultra-dünnen Kühlrippen scheinen ihre Arbeit hervorragend zu machen. Selbst bei schweren Lasten bleibt der Pi angenehm kühl. Da gibt es nichts zu meckern!Das Schöne ist auch, dass der Kühler über einen 4-Pin JST-Anschluss verfügt. Ich musste nichts groß konfigurieren, alles war gleich beim ersten Anstecken funktionsbereit. Die automatische Temperaturkontrolle sorgt dafür, dass der Lüfter nur dann hochdreht, wenn er muss – super für alle, die ein leises Arbeitsumfeld lieben! Und ja, ich kann bestätigen: Der Kühler ist wirklich leise.Natürlich habe ich auch die Montage getestet. Alles kam mit gutem Montagematerial und den passenden Wärmeleitpads – die allerdings ein wenig gelitten hatten, weil sie in der Schraubentüte lagen. Das könnte man besser verpacken. Und diesen komischen Acrylboden? Naja, der ist nicht unbedingt nötig, und ich habe ihn einfach weggelassen. Aber hey, der Kühler selbst macht seinen Job hervorragend!Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen? Wenn die Hitze steigt, könnte der Lüfter ein bisschen lauter werden. Ce petit ventilateur est parfaitement adapté pour un Raspberry Pi 5 et fait un excellent travail de refroidissement. Bien qu'il soit assez volumineux, il offre une dissipation thermique efficace, ce qui est essentiel pour maintenir des températures optimales lors de l'utilisation intensive de l'appareil.L'installation est simple, même si elle nécessite un peu de minutie avec les petites vis. Le manuel pourrait proposer les étapes dans un ordre plus logique, mais une fois cette étape surmontée, tout fonctionne parfaitement. De plus, le ventilateur est silencieux et ne s'active qu'à partir de 60°C, avec la possibilité de modifier cette configuration selon vos besoins.En résumé, un produit bien conçu qui remplit parfaitement sa fonction, idéal pour ceux qui cherchent à améliorer la performance de leur Raspberry Pi 5 tout en maintenant une température basse. Je le recommande vivement !

De momento estoy muy contento con este cooler para mi Raspberry Pi 5. El diseño es súper delgado y se ve de buena calidad, además de que el ventilador PWM funciona de maravilla. Falta testearlo a fondo para ver cómo aguanta cuando lo ponga a trabajar a tope y si mantiene la Raspberry sin calentarse mucho, pero por ahora le doy una buena puntuación. Parece ser una gran opción si buscas algo eficiente y compacto.

Siamo anni luce avanti ai classici dissipatori in alluminio, resa superiore persino ad un mio case dissipante realizzato completamente in alluminio e con ventola... il sistema ad EatPipe "detta legge". Sicuramente con un ingombro verticale superiore a tutti gli altri dissipatori attivi (ma nemmeno più di tanto) consente al Raspberry Pi5 di non andare oltre i 50/55°C sotto carico, testato con Passmark per CPU ARM non ho visto temperature superiori ai 48°C. e non appena il carico di lavoro scende, la temperatura precipita intorno ai 30/33°C in idle..... montaggio super semplice, per errore ho montato il pad termico anche sulla Ram (vedi foto) ma non serve in quanto la parte bassa di alluminio non arriva a toccare il chip, ritengo che se avete problemi a tenere fresco il vostro RPi 5 questo dissipatore fa per voi... personalmente mi ritengo estremamente soddisfatto del prodotto.

Selbstverständlich handelt es sich bei meinem nachfolgenden Text dennoch um eine neutrale und ehrliche Bewertung.Zum Zeitpunkt dieser Rezension kostet der GeekPi Ultra Thin ICE Tower Cooler 19,99 Euro.Der Kühler selbst ist schnell und einfach montiert und bietet - wie nahezu alle Upgrade-Kühler mit Lüfter eine moderne PWM-Steuerung, die fest vom Pi 5 SoC gesteuert wird. Der Lüfter ist dabei angenehm leise und fällt auch beim Arbeiten nicht störend auf. Die hohe Kühlleistung ist zweifellos auf die Heatpipe-Konstruktion zurückzuführen.Der Nachteil dieser Heatpipes ist jedoch, dass der Kühler mitsamt Lüfter dabei leicht über die USB-Ports hinausragt, womit Standardgehäuse nicht passen. Das ist jedoch nicht dramatisch. Schlimmer ist eher, dass Erweiterungskarten über den GPIO Port nicht mehr verwendbar sind, ohne dass man eine kleine Stiftleiste als Verlängerung einsetzt. Diese gibt es im Zubehör für niedrige einstellige Euro-Beträge und es wäre schön gewesen, wenn so etwas bei diesem Kühler beigelegen hätte. Dafür gibt es einen Stern Abzug.Gut wiederum ist, dass mehr als ausreichend Wärmeleitpads beigegeben wurden.Von meiner Seite aus gibt es, wenn man die Situation des GPIO-Ports beachtet, gerne eine Kaufempfehlung.
