Citric acid has many uses, i.e. culinary, cleaning and de-scaling as well as being used in industrial processes. I have bought this brand before and found it to be effective in removing calcium deposits from tiles, the scale in a kettle and shower heads etc. A small spoonful of citric acid and a drop of water is sufficient to remove the discolouration inside stainless steel pans. I recently bought a coffee machine and the manufacturer's de-scaling tablets are quite expensive compared to a couple of spoonfuls of citric acid which is just as effective. Buying citric acid in a 1kg sachet is the most economic option unless bought in much larger quantities. Ideally, if you're purchasing it for the first time I recommend you buying it in a 1kg plastic tub that you can then subsequently re-fill from a sachet. I've found that 1kg lasts me quite a while. Recommended. This is food grade citric acid so can be used in the preparation of foodstuffs although I've never tried this myself. It is also useful to make up a cleaning solution too particularly with bicarbonate of soda.

This is brilliant for cleaning the pan of a toilet. I have tried just about everything to remove the brown staining that appears over time, but all to no avail. I happened (by chance) to read a write-up by someone who had the same problems. I purchased it and gave it a go... I sprinkled about two tablespoons into the water, gave it a little stir and left it for 4 hours. Got the toilet brush in action (not all gone but quite a lot of the stains had started to go). I repeated the process 3 more times, each time leaving it for 4 hours, then brushing. Until after 4 goes, the pan was almost clear. I now treat it once a month. Great stuff, I recommend it to all my family and friends and those who have tried it, give it a thumbs up.

Not used it yet, however really good value for money with instructions on what you can use it for.

I used this to descale a big stain patch on my bath tub. Works like wonder . Use 2 or 3 times if necessary. Diluated in a spray bottle or directly . Just use some tissueonnthe spot to stop draining the waste pipe and to keep the solution on the spot. Leave it overnight. Also I cleaned successfully white spots around the kitchen sink
