**Q: I use alexa/ smart plug to control fan. would this start blowing if plug was switched on? or does it need plug power followed by pushing power button?**
A: I would leave it in desired speed and then switch it on or off via smart plug

**Q: Does the fan make a whining noise like the back of a fridge as it blows air? Mine does but i dont know if it's by design?**
A: It makes a quiet noise when it's on,  I have had it 2 years now and it has never got louder. I sleep with it on no 3 and don't even notice it. Couldn't live without it.
It's nowhere near as noisy as the fridge.

**Q: does an American honey well tower fan have to have a transformer to use in the U/K**
A: It's sold in the UK, made for the UK market with a UK plug factory fitted - NO you do not need a transformer.
