UPS, portable power for laptop
I recently purchased the EcoFlow River 3 and it came paired with the 45W solar panel, and I have to say, it’s been a fantastic investment. It works great both as a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) and for camping, providing reliable power when and where I need it most. The EcoFlow River 3 has become my go-to UPS for essential devices like my router, laptop, and even a few small appliances. During power outages, it seamlessly switches over to battery power with its <10 ms response time, ensuring that my devices stay powered without any interruptions. I’ve had it power my router and computer for several hours during brief outages, allowing me to keep working and stay connected. The switch from grid power to the River 3 is practically instantaneous, so there’s no downtime, which is critical for anyone working from home or relying on continuous internet access. As a camping companion, the EcoFlow River 3 has been incredibly convenient. It’s compact, lightweight, and powerful enough to run small appliances like a portable fridge, lights, and charge multiple devices at once. Whether I’m using it to power a fan on hot nights or keep my camera and phone charged, it’s a great companion for outdoor adventures. The 45W solar panel that comes with the River 3 is a nice addition, offering a reliable way to recharge the power station during the day when you’re off the grid. It’s lightweight and portable, so it doesn’t take up much room in my pack, and it’s easy to set up. Even on partly cloudy days, it provides enough power to keep the River 3 topped off for daily use.I’ve been impressed with the fast charging of the EcoFlow River 3—it goes from 0% to 100% in just about an hour when plugged into a wall outlet, which is fantastic for a portable power station. When using the solar panel, it charges at a decent rate, allowing me to keep everything powered without worrying about running out of juice. Even with the 45W panel, I’ve found it efficient enough for camping trips, especially when I need to recharge between activities or overnight.Quiet OperationAnother huge advantage is how quiet the EcoFlow River 3 operates. Whether I’m using it at home as a UPS or at the campsite, it runs silently in the background, unlike gas-powered generators. This makes it perfect for use in more tranquil settings, whether you’re indoors or out in nature.Overall, I’m extremely happy with the EcoFlow River 3 and 45W solar panel combination. The panel gets about 35w on my porch but I also connected two 45w panels together to get about 75w consistently. As a UPS, it keeps my critical devices powered during outages without a hitch. For camping, it’s reliable and versatile enough to meet all my power needs while being compact and easy to carry. If you’re looking for a portable power station that’s both reliable for home backup and efficient for outdoor adventures, the EcoFlow River 3 is an excellent choice. It’s a great value for the performance it delivers, and the solar panel is the perfect addition for sustainable, off-grid power. Highly recommended!

EcoFlow River 3
My EcoFlow River 3 arrived intact and with about a 30% state of charge. AC power cord and 12v car socket cord were included. Currently using it to power the 120v panel in my 30x40 storage building that is not connected to the grid. It has been running 10 LED lights on the ceiling for a couple hours now, and it looks like I’ll have enough to run for a couple more. Seems to be an impressive little unit so far. No complaints.

EcoFlow for the win
The media could not be loaded. This is my second EcoFlow River 3. I use them to power diesel heaters in my VW buses and they perform beautifully. I power a 5KW heater and a 2KW heater. In order to do this all you need to do is attach a cigarette lighter plug to the power wires coming off your diesel. The 60 watt solar panel is compact and easily portable. However when I first connected it to the battery (in cloudless full bright New Mexico sunshine) the charging fluctuated from 0 to 62 watts and an error code appeared on the app (the app itself is excellent). I unplugged it and within a few minutes I got the error code again. On the third try it seems okay and is producing between 50 and 58 watts, which is respectable. In addition to my two River 3 batteries, I own an EcoFlow Delta 2 and an EcoFlow River 2 Pro. The River 2 Pro will power my Dometic CX5 35 liter cooler for at least three days even when set at 33 degrees. I’m sold on EcoFlow. The products are superb and the support is outstanding.

Very efficient AC inverter
EcoFlow products are dependable. Their interface is good and there is always a good connection between WiFi and the unit, so checking its’ status while away is flawless.I have a large number of portable power devices, both EcoFlow and many other brands. This particular unit (245 WH) has the highest AC inverter efficiency of all my power stations. This really helps to ensure all the battery power gets used by your load. It also produces very little heat when using the AC inverter part of the power station. Other higher power ecofliw devices are not nearly as efficient as the new River 3 model. The USB C PD port is very nice and can supply 100 watts continuously. It makes fast work of charging other USB C PD devices, like high power boom boxes, and laptops. The 2 USB A ports work equally well. And the 12 VDC lighter socket can supply 10 amps for portable refrigerators and the like.Everything about this station works well, except solar charging. I plug this into a panel outside before the sun comes up. When it gets light enough to start charging, the unit goes into a fault mode. It doesn’t charge at all for the entire day. However, if I plug it into a solar panel, and the light is just enough to start charging, it works flawlessly. So there is room for improvement. And I expect EcoFlow to correct this with a future software update. I have other units that do not have this issue. They charge normally when the light becomes bright enough to produce power from the panel. For the record, I’m using a 100 watt solar panel to charge this unit.I use this a lot in the winter to run an electric blanket. Charges during the day and warms me at night. It also keeps all my small electronics charged.Overall, a very efficient, light, portable unit. Just need to resolve the solar charging issue. If they fix this frustrating bug, it would be 5 stars.

This is a great Item. I run a couple of small electrical items at events booth and it handles it well. Four hours of use and I still had 75% of power. I was surprised to read that I charges to full capacity in an hour. I certainly can vouch for that. For what you get the price is spot on.
