Hi here is the response I received from the supplier when I asked the same question: "Hi, The wooden pole has two washers on the end which are 25mm diameter, The holes in the side are 1” which is 25.4mm so the idea is to make the pole central to the hole then pull, if its difficult from one side due maybe to a non perfect round hole, then swap to the other side.
