This is a nice, flexible light with a good diffuser. The tape is sticky, so make sure you want this to be permanent, because it's likely to damage wall paint when removed. Lot's of color, pattern, and dynamic light options with the software. My last Govee light strip had the green LEDs burn out after a year, hopefully that's not the case here. I will update this review if that happens. These are pretty pricey, so hopefully they're durable!

I had been looking for some rope lights that were good quality, bright, and stuck to my wall (without needing brackets to hold them up) and these are IT. They stick to the wall excellently and look awesome. Super easy to setup + great connectivity and app. I'm a gamer and streamer and these are the lights of my dreams.. like for real. I was not only impressed by the quality, but how bright/vivid they are. I got the 16.4ft and have them in the corner of one wall and they light up the entire room. Absolutely obsessed with these lights specifically out of all of my govee lights so far. Would buy again. Worth the investment!

These lights are pricy, but wow do they look and feel premium - great color rendering (including whites!), really nice materials, and all the fancy effects you could ever ask for. The diffuser over the LEDs is really, really good. Setup was easy, and their app picked up the lights immediately. Cutting the lights to size and capping was straightforward too with the included kit. I’ve tried a lot of different LED strings (including build your own or other brands) but these are so much better if you just need a single strip or don’t want to mess with wiring in controllers etc. Power block and controller on the cord also feel solid and nicely finished.

These lights were very easy to install. Very much more flexible than rope lights or even desk lights. They look awesome on my cabinets if I do say so myself….. also know that it wherever you put them is where they’re going to stay… for eternity. Adhesive is so strong that when I had to remove one, I had to use a knife and cut the adhesive off of the actual light itself and leave the adhesive behind or it will tear all the paint off of my wall. It’s a good thing that they’re very strong adhesive wise. Just make sure that you know exactly where you’re putting it and that you have measured properly and if you’re going to cut it, make sure that you do that before you start putting it up. Also, a big deal is that these are neon colored and very bright! If you are trying to match something like dream view, for instance (I did) they will not match with the other lights at all not even close. They don’t even match the desk lights that you see in the video along my countertops. I have to turn the brightness down or it overpower the entire kitchen and other lights.

I’ve been using the Govee COB LED Strip Light Pro for a while now, and honestly, they’re unlike any other LED strips I’ve tried. They’re ultra bright—so much that they actually feel like regular overhead room lighting. That’s a big deal if you’re trying to light up a whole wall or create even, direct lighting without harsh spots. I was really impressed by how even and clean the light spread is; there are no visible dots or hotspots, which makes them perfect for wall-washing or under-cabinet setups where you want that smooth glow. One thing I noticed is that the adhesive is decent, but not super strong. At first, I wasn’t thrilled, but then I realized it’s kind of a good thing—especially if you ever want to remove or reposition them. Since the tape isn’t overly aggressive, it won’t rip up your walls or leave a nasty residue. That’s a win for renters or anyone who likes to switch things up. The packaging felt premium, and the colors pop—whether I’m using them for ambient vibes or cranking them up for brightness. The Govee app is easy to use, and the built-in scenes with smooth animations make it fun to switch up the mood quickly. Now, here’s the real talk: these lights are expensive, no doubt. But if brightness is your top priority, I haven’t found anything better on the market. They really do stand out for being strong enough to replace traditional lighting in certain setups. The color accuracy is good overall, but when I use DreamView, I notice it’s not perfect—mainly because you can only set 6 zones per strip. That limits how detailed the color mapping can get, especially on longer runs. So if you’re going for ultra-precise RGB sync, it’s not flawless. But for everyday brightness and evenness? These are hands-down the best I’ve used.

This light checks so many boxes for me, but mainly COB functionality with RGB and WHITE (cool and warm) combined into one. Glad Govee offered it as I trust their products. A few flaws for my particular installation...1) I like to hide wires as much as possible. The fact that the light is permanently connected directly to the control box, and rather close too (~3ft), means that in order for me to route power and control components into a closet or behind drywall means I'd have to cut a huge hole in a wall to fit either the control box or light through. I didn't want to do this, so I just mounted the control box to the visible wall, which is not ideal. I wish they offered a disconnect option for the light to control box connection. 2) the bottom of the end caps are not flush with the bottom of the strip light itself creating a bit of a gap at both ends of the light between the wall. Still five stars because the light is dope. Super bright. And shines my gun wall perfectly. If they could improve the connection issue to allow easier hiding of wires, it'd be an impeccable product. Oh yeah, the packaging on this is s-tier.

WOW. First off I will start by saying that I have always been a huge fan of all of Govee products. I have been buying all types of systems from them from automotive to interior LED strips and smart bulbs for almost 10 years now and have never been disappointed but these blew me away. Super Bright ! In my 'man cave' I have this glass desk that I have had for about 12 years now and it has treated me very well. A few years after I bought it, I was introduced to Govee products and picked up a couple strings and they adhered quite well to the desk for over 6 years. Sadly, a few months ago those trusty lights failed due to (?carelessness?/ bad positioning? long story short, I accidentally ripped one of the strings off six inches from the start of its run leaving half my lights dark.) Having purchased several automotive lighting kits since then I returned to my trusty source and found a new tech had been released, "COB" and an LED density that made the old strip look like it had been created in the 90's. If you're still with me and have watched the video, I am still in the rebuilding process (replacing this complicated lighting path involves unplugging EVERYTHING and moving the desk away from the wall.) I used a portion of the old desk lights as accent lighting for what I lovingly refer to as the 'underskirt'. Plenty more cable management to be done and looking back I should have also used the adhesive backing alongside the Velcro straps. Still several more hours of tidying but I could not wait to share my delight in this product. I am confident that are you are using these lights on a flat, level, clean surface; you will be fine mounting these with just the included adhesive backing. Well done GOVEE! Love it! Easy to use, very functional, remote app to set millions of different scenes, last set lasted 7 years so I have no doubt these will be just as durable. One of my favorite things to do when I have guests and they are amazed by these lights, " Alexa, Red Alert ! " and the color 'scene' changes to a pulsing red and we hear the classic easily recognizable tone. TLDR: Excellent! Super bright. Extremely dense LED. Seems 1000x more durable than last gen, Trimmable , GOVEE app and Matter compatible. (I know, I have DECADES to go on cable management but... ) Worth every penny (I bought two and don't regret one single cent) PS-the picture was not planned , I literally removed it from the desk and coiled it as I went, then threw it on the floor. Also, sorry for shaky video, my gimble is pos (or operator error? lol) PPS- The 'scene' I used is called 'River', one set is set to the default color scheme and the 2nd is set to preset '2'

These are awesome looking lights – when you first power them up they do a cool color wave pattern that really shows off how smooth and well-diffused the 1000+ LED lights are. Unfortunately I just couldn't get Matter to work and that's a dealbreaker for me. I followed the instructions and tried every troubleshooting suggestion I could find, but I couldn't get it connected to Apple Home or Home Assistant, but they connect to the Govee app just fine. So if you don't care about smarthome integration and are fine with controlling them through the Govee app then you'll probably love these, but otherwise your mileage may vary.
