Why is this shoulder support about 8x more expensive than similar functioning items?

It is made of better, more flexible materials than other braces I have used. This brace is made in Germany, not China, so the cost of production would be much higher.

Is there any neoprene in this product?

Many braces on the market are made of neoprene, a synthetic material used to make wetsuits. Neoprene doesn’t “breathe” and traps moisture, especially sweat, which leads to a breeding ground for bacteria. Bauerfeind products are different because they’re made of a high-quality knitted material. Knitted braces are more durable, moisture-wicking and can be easily washed in a regular washing machine.

Is it confortable for women?

As I am not a woman, I can't speak to that, I can say that it helped my shoulder a lot. I would expect it to be as comfortable as a seat belt in a car.
