Installation was a breeze once I realized I could just follow the template for the way I wanted to install it. The instructions felt a bit overwhelming and there wasn't a chart showing what screws went where which was a bit frustrating but easy enough to figure out after getting started. After some adjustments with the the sweep the door closes much better than it did with my old unit and I couldn't be happier.

I got this for my mother who is in a wheelchair and has a hard time shutting the door behind her--it is a life saver! You can set it to different 'speeds' and tensions, to either close the door very slow, or very fast. Pro: Easy to set up, but best to have 2 people. Can be set to different tension levels Wonderful for households with people who have mobility issues and have a hard time shutting the door behind them. Can be set to ensure it won't crush fingers as it closes Added security, the door often feels locked after this is used. I'm not saying it'll fool a burglar, but it fooled me a few times. Con: Can make opening the door a bit harder as the door feels 'heavy' once this is installed, but it just takes a short time to get used to it. If this is for an individual who isn't terribly strong, you may want to fiddle with the settings until you find what works best for them

We needed a heavy-duty door closer for one of our commercial rentals. Ordering this particular one was hassle-free and we received it in a timely manner. It worked perfectly!

It has a lot of adjust ability, but even on it's loosest setting the door is a bit harder to open. I used this on a light metal shed door, so it might work better on heavier doors.

Not only was this extremely easy to install, but they also send true to size templates, so you know exactly where to drill. The company also sends a follow up email so that if you have any questions or concerns you can contact their customer support easily. I felt like that not only reassured me that i could contact them if I had any issues, but also gave me the impression that they are very conscientious about customer satisfaction. This hinge is perfect for when I’m carrying in a little one and groceries, and can’t pull the door closed behind me. It’s simple to adjust and isn’t bulky like I was anticipating. The only thing I think could improve the product/packaging is to maybe include step by step picture instructions for those that can’t follow written instructions as well. Otherwise it is a great product.

The quality of the product seems to be fairly good but the directions are extremely vague and insufficient. There are parts included in the box that are not shown in the installation manual and several references that are unclear. I reached out to the company and received two responses attempting to verify I actually bought the product but no response of answer to my inquiry. I'm a pretty handy person but really struggled with this to the point I nearly returned it.

I used a push-side top jamb installation, with the closer unit on the top jamb and the foot on the door. The instructions and the "top jamb" template were in conflict with each other over how to achieve 120-180 degrees of opening freedom. One said that "dimension A" should be 4" from the door edge, and the other said 6.5". Nonetheless, the hold-open functionality is dictated by a nut that you "simply turn counterclockwise". The nut is super thin but has a large diameter, so only my large wrench would open wide enough--but the large wrench is also somewhat fat, making it difficult to stay in place on the nut. When first installed, the door only opens about 75 degrees. The nut required a huge amount of force to turn, and would only move a partial rotation--this was enough to get the door to open about 110 degrees, which was acceptable but far less than I wanted. The seller support provided an immediate reply via automation, and a seemingly human reply within a few days. The first reply asked for photos (which I provided within a day), and indicated that a specialist would have to look into it. Many days later, the specialist quoted me the instructions about simply turning the nut, but apparently didn't read my question which clearly said that I attempted to do so and that it was difficult to apply the required force. Should I be expecting to apply over 150 ft-lbs of torque to the nut? They never answered my followup, and it's insulting to type a detailed question with photos, and have them paste me a sentence from the instructions. I don't know if they were dismissive of my question out of incompetence (reading English shouldn't be hard for a UK company--I mean they did invent the language, after all), or if they are simply too busy to be bothered. Positive things: quality materials and finish on the product. Operation is quiet and (except for opening angle), is functionally solid. Negative things: for my install method ("top jamb"), the instructions and the template were in direct conflict with each other (one of them was probably copy-pasted from a different installation method's details); corporate support was slow, condescending, and ultimately useless.

This door closer was really easy to install. My husband helped me out, but it would have been easy enough for me to install alone. I love that the screws and bolts are heavy duty; which means it will last a very long time. There are a few installion options, so it will really work for anyone’s home. I have a 2 year old and a little dog that likes to try to run out the door when my hands are full. Today I didn’t have to worry about hurrying up to get the groceries in the door and juggling things to pull the door closed behind me. Definitely a life saver!
