Read the instructions.
First off, I do not review many products. They have to be either bad, or really, really good. This one falls into the latter bucket. I've been playing the guitar now for about 25 years, off and on, but not seriously until recently. I picked up a bunch of gear earlier this year, and had a list of pedals and other stuff I was planning to work through, but lucked across the Spark series. I'd planned to get the Go, which technically does what I needed it to do right now, but decided to spring for the Spark 2 so I don't have to go get another one in a few months. Boy am I glad I did! Wow. I have only spent a couple days with the amp so far, but already I've thrown away my old list. I simply don't need any of it. The amp models and pedal options check off literally everything. I would highly recommend this for anyone at any level. If you're not looking to spend as much, the smaller models do all the same stuff. Get your foot in the door, ASAP! After a couple days, I was sick of staring at my phone for hours (the app keeps the screen on, at least on Android) and reconnecting the app every so often (I suppose if the app doesn't use the connection, the phone closes it to save power), so off to Google I went. Turns out there's an app (PC/Mac/Linux) that someone created (no affiliated with Positive Grid at all, from what I can tell) and web browser based option out there, which I found much easier to use. There are also pages with mappings from the names of the amp models and pedals in the app, so don't be afraid to dig around. All around, exactly what I wanted, before I even knew I wanted it. Also, everything I needed, with zero hassle. Plug it in, turn it on and jam. It takes a little time to get used to the app, but it's not exactly simple; finding a starting point is impossible to screw up though and you can go from there. Professional sound in a portable package that requires little to no experience to start using. EDIT: The SoundShed app technically supports the Spark 40 and Mini, but I have used it with the Spark 2 and it works to control the details of existing presets, change the amp/pedal models and switch to other amp-stored presets, but you can't switch to something that's not already saved and can't use the ToneCloud setups. This is not a dealbreaker for me, since the phone app works well for that, and with the Windows Phone Link you can see it on a PC. I just wanted to clarify since I started poking around and noticed. The SoundShed desktop app doesn't work well with the 2, but the web version does.

User friendly. Versatile. Beautiful.
I was in the market for a new amp to practice with because my current setup was cumbersome and dated. I am a beginner to intermediate guitar player for reference. The first thing I noticed was the striking look of this amplifier. I love the white color, gold trim accents, as well as the deep red of the handle's underside. It looks great and the Mrs. approves when I have this sitting on the desk or table. During my first setup I knew this would be a much more enjoyable experience than my previous, dated amp and my Zoom digital effects pedal. The 8 built-in guitar tones are great and I found myself chugging in Drop-D for an hour before I even connected the phone app. Holy cow does this little amp pack a punch! I don't know how loud this gets because I'm sure my neighbors would complain if I went past half volume on it. I use YouTube all the time for guitar tutorials as well as backing tracks. I appreciate being able to play the lessons through the speakers and hearing my guitar at the same time. Yeah, you can also use this as a bluetooth speaker and it sounds great. If you want there is an option for a battery. There is a door on the bottom of the amp for the proprietary battery (sold separately). You can take this thing tailgating with music or play some sick riffs anywhere you want. The accompanying app will allow you to configure new guitar tones and set them as one of the 8 guitar tones. There is also a built-in looper that I know was missing on the 1st version of the spark. It works like it should. Finally, there is the option for expansion with the built-in outputs on the back. When I become a rock star, I will be able to tap into the venue's sound system or a larger amp and still use the Spark 2 as my guitar effects pedal. Overall, I have really enjoyed this amp and I have practiced more in the past week than I have in years due the ease of set-up and bluetooth connectivity. I know I have barely scratched the surface on this amazing little amp and I'll try to post an update in 6 months to a year. In the meantime, keep rockin'.

Yes it's fantastic, but be aware of hidden costs
I was a professional musician and guitar teacher for several decades. When I was teaching nothing like this existed, but if it had I would have recommended it with zero qualms. If you are starting out and want to improve fast, this practice amp is beyond fantastic. It is small, and potentially portable (see below), and has 50w of volume! Go on YouTube and look at the feature list and demos. If you are an experienced or advanced guitarist and want a great little practice amp that you can carry wirelessly all around the house (10 LB) , it's a no-brainer. Apparently, Steve Vai uses one of the smaller amps (Spark MINI Vai) from Positive Grid to warm up backstage before performances. The app is awesome, has a ton of great features, and is pretty easy to use. The list of amps and effects included is comprehensive. The future is great! Now for the potential downside. This amp is part of a product ecosystem. You can buy and enjoy it as it comes, and it is more than worth it at the cost as is. BUT, to unlock the full potential of this product, you are looking at additional purchases. Here are the add-ons with the prices at the time of this review 2025: 1 To make the product truly portable you will have to purchase the proprietary battery. This costs $79 before tax and shipping. 2 There is the foot-switch Spark Control X, that allows for hands-free control of preset switching and looper on/off control. This costs $179 before tax and shipping. 3 There are in-app purchases to unlock a Jimi Hendrix-branded set of guitar amps and effects. This costs $20. 4 There is the Positive Grid Spark LINK Digital Wireless Guitar System. This allows for cable-free guitar operation. This costs $149 before tax and shipping. In my opinion, the Hendrix presets and the battery should have been included with the product. Portability is what the product is selling, so you need the battery. Making the battery a separate purchase makes the low price of the Spark 2 deceptive. The Hendrix amps and effects load with the app as add-on nagware and cannot be removed from the menu without purchase. This is an unacceptable in-app purchase. The digital wireless guitar system and foot-switch controller are arguably optional. Not everyone would want these. Positive Grid has set this up as an ecosystem, letting you buy add-ons as you need them, rather than automatically including them. This is not necessarily bad, and will save some users a lot of money. It makes the entry-level cost low. Just think in advance of how you will be using the setup, and budget accordingly.

Great quality and tone. Excellent practice Amp
Very easy to use. Quality is outstanding for the price. Great clean, crunch and distorted tones. The only donw side is no to be able to modify the order or the effects on the signal chain. Would be great also to have a PC app also not only the tablet or phone app.

No Pitch Shift, Otherwise Stellar Practice Amp
I am writing this after spending about 5 hours messing with it in one sitting. I love this amp. For some background, I have been playing for a year and a half and in that time I had a Fender Champion II 25W amp (which I liked quite a bit) and I also use a couple neural DSP sims on my PC. I live in an apartment so it's hard for me to justify buying a proper amp and pedals (financially its even more difficult). I picked this up on prime day because I am getting a bit tired of sitting at my desk, and the option for the battery pack would be nice if I ever want to go play in a park or at a friend's house. Additionally I was really interested in the various user made presets and AI tone generator. So far I have loved this thing. The app is a little finicky, but overall its pretty easy to get the hang of. The tone quality is great, though again I will admit I do not have too much experience with amps. I have played for a few hours with relatively low volume and then a couple more hours through a Joyo headset I got a while back. The sound is great both with and without the headphones, and I am excited for a time when I'll get to actually crank the volume up. I have ordered the Spark Neo headphones as well, and will be trying them with this amp out of curiosity as I have read you can use them directly wired to the amp. You can use this amp almost as a Bluetooth speaker, playing music straight from your Spotify or off of a youtube video while you play your guitar over top (I was watching a few song playthroughs for The Devil Wears Prada and Architects). Pairing this with user made tones, or making your own tone either manually or with the help of the AI, is extremely fun. The functionality and capability of this amp is very wide and that in itself makes me want to keep playing it. I'm not sure how many different amp sims and pedals there are, but from the lists I glanced at it seemed to be quite a few (maybe 40+ amps?) Definitely more than what I have with the two neural DSP sims I have (though I would still recommend those as well). The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because there is no way to transpose or pitch shift your guitar input, which is a feature I have been missing greatly from my experience with my PC set up. I have read it is quite tricky to do, and I have also read there may be some ways to do it, but I tried a Lekato pitch box pedal with it and I could not get it to work. I unfortunately do not have many guitars and I like to play in quite a lot of drop tuning, so that has been one major drawback. Even so, I still would highly recommend this as a practice amp for both the sound and all the fun you can have with tweaking your tones.

An Amazing Piece of Guitar Equipment!
This thing is amazing! I have the Spark Go! and I wanted something just a little louder and this fits the bill. Also comes with a built in looper (which I think you need to footswitch to truly optimize its use) which the Go does not support. The tones are clear. Even when the speakers are at a higher volume they don't break up and muddy the sound. It's very clear. I play everyday and I have higher end equipment, but this fits right in. Very versatile tool to have in your workflow.

Simply Awesome
A one stop shop for effects, loops, jamming, and tuning. Practice-Friendly. Good volume. Compact and lightweight. It even comes with a carry handle. Pairs nicely with the Positive Grid Cab. Highly recommend.

Nice but not flawless
I had a large Peavey Classic 60 tube amp for my guitar. It sounded amazing, but was very loud, big and hard to use. I decided to sell it and use part of that money to get this little (but capable) amp. I'm not a real musician. I play my electric guitar every once in a while for fun, and I'm not very good at it. The thing about this amp that drew my attention was its extra functionality, specifically the ability to implement the functionality of several guitar effects chained together, and the looper. After playing with it for a few months, I'm both happy and disappointed. The amp sounds great, and you can make it sound like pretty much whatever you want, which alone justifies buying it to replace my old tube amp. My disappointment comes from the fact that the software is buggy as hell. The app, which runs on my iPad or my iPhone allows you to play as part of a band, with the app providing the background music over which you can play the guitar. This would be extremely cool if it wasn't for the fact that is riddled with issues. Most times, I start playing and the amp starts making loud static sounds that seem to get worse with time. Apparently this is some kind of issue with bluetooth, but in practice it makes some of the best features for people like me useless. If this functionality worked as advertised, this product would be a 6 stars in my opinion. As it stands, I give it 3 stars and I'm waiting for software upgrades.

Impeccable
Juste parfait.

Poca spesa tanta resa
Tanta roba. Suono grosso da un ampli piccolo. Senza balle.
