I think this is way better than cloud filter for the price. I bought this thinking I would hear white noise through it and nothing! The sound is clear and picks with my Steinberg and Rode mic on phantom power. Even if you don’t use a condenser mic I do recommend phantom power with this filter. It picks up your voice without the gain. Easy plug and play after that. The build quality is remarkable and you can tie it down. Hands down would buy again for the price!

Thing is a piece of garbage knock off. As soon as it’s activated it adds a horrible humming sound to the signal. Just buy a real Cloudlifter, I wasted money going cheap…

Circuits are circuits and this basically contains the same gear as the Cloud Lifter. All you have to do is turn on your phantom power and you've got solid gain without noise. Well worth the price.

This mic lifter is fantastic and as good as the name brands that I have used in the past. Build quality is super solid, fancy connectors and well thought out design. I trust it to use with my nicest mics and it really amplifies the signal without introducing any noise. Highly recommend!

Received unit and plugged it in to my scarlett 2i2 and plugged my SM7B and instantly sounded horrible. I thought it was going to damage my equipment. I do not recommend.

This preamp really made my SM7B shine! It’s bigger than I expected, but the clean sound boost it provides is worth it. It amplifies the mic without adding any unnecessary noise or distortion. If you're serious about great audio, this is a must!

The pre amp has made a tremendously big difference in my streaming setup. I use the SM7B and it is notorious for needing to be cranked up. With the lifter, it noticeably louder output. It now has ability to get to a good nominal level (host voice, spoken word) with less gain on interface and gives me more headroom. Because booster raises the mic signal before the main gain stage, you can reduce how much gain the interface preamp has to supply. All in all... If I were using the SM7B with just my interface preamp, I’d likely struggle with low volume, and a lot of gain needed, which would give me noticeable hiss. After adding the Chkenono booster you can expect: 1) Your voice would sit more forward without pushing the interface preamp into “max gain” territory. 2) Noise floor drops, quieter parts of voice come through better. 3) More stable levels: less risk of clipping, more breathing room for loud parts. 4) Cleaner, crisper recordings for podcasts or voice-overs, and less post-processing to “bring up quiet parts.” My discord friends no longer ask me to turn up the volume.
