This is totally worth it, totally.I was nervous about buying a mattress online because my idea of firmness or softness is more than likely different from someone else's. But, I got lucky, it's perfect.I don't really want to use the terms soft or firm. It's supportive without being firm. It's plushy without being too soft and unsupportive.I'm comparison to a memory foam mattress, it's nicely supportive. I don't feel like I'm sinking, but have all the comfort of memory foam. Compared to a traditional inner spring, soooo much more comfortable. I don't feel like I need a topper.My husband demanded a 14", and yeah, it's definitely 14 inches. I don't know if it's worth it to get that much mattress over a 12", but that's a personal choice.I do find it a bit too squishy on the sides, but I am getting used to that (it's been 3 weeks).

I just got this bed so it is too soon to comment on the pain relief as my back is still adjusting and that takes time. But I will say it is a fantastic value for the money. It looks amazing and is very high-quality. I have it on an 18 inch tall metal frame. It is a bit tall and I have to climb into it with a footstool ha ha but it feels very, very comfortable. I will say that it is quite firm after it is fully inflated at first the bed feels kind of squishy after it is unpacked, but about 24 to 48 hours later, it reaches its full firmness. It is far firmer than any other mattress in a box that I have purchased. It does have an inner spring and a pillow top. It does not squeak or make any noise when you get into it. It’s pretty easy to get out of. In fact I go slow slowly because the edge is kind of a little on the springy side at the very edge and I don’t want to be launched into the air lol I really think this mattress is a fantastic value for the money and highly functional and great quality. I definitely recommend it. I do think you need to allow yourself time to adjust your back to the new level of support if you are not used to a firm mattress I have been sleeping on a crappy mattress for a long time and it is taking me some time to adjust, but it has only been a short period so I know it will take a little time. I was told 30 days.

I love, love, love this mattress. Its firm and offers a quality comfort and support that puts you right to sleep. You have to allow the mattress to breathe for at least 3 days before you lay on it but it's worth the wait!!

I was very skeptical about buying a mattress in a box but this was perfect for our daughter’s college apartment. It is a little more firm than she likes so I bought a mattress pad as well. The two put together made a very fluffy and comfortable bed! The quality is great! It looks like a mattress from an expensive furniture store.

I just needed a cost effective king size mattress as I was not planning on keeping it very long. At this price point, I was not expecting much, but this mattress pleasantly surprised me. It is the perfect firmness (I would say a tad firmer than medium-firm) and very comfortable to sleep on. I love the fact that it is a hybrid mattress with coil springs and memory foam. It sleeps pretty cool, but as with any mattress that has foam, cotton sheets and blankets help a lot with heat regulation.The setup process was quick and easy -- with the mattress expanding to full height well before the specified time on the directions. Definitely a solid choice for comfort, price, and convenience.

This arrived earlier than expected. It's quite comfortable and bouncy. I only gave it about 60 hours to fluff up though, didn't really have a funky smell other than "new carpet/fabric". I hit it with some smelly good spray just because though. It did reach the full 14inches but my 14in pocket sheets didn't quite fit. That could be a sheet problem though. It fit a twin frame perfectly and was fun to watch decompress. Should have gotten a video :( You can feel the springs around the edges when putting the sheets on but not while sleeping. I don't have any back or hip pain and sleep on my side and back. It's actually more comfortable that the Purple mattress in the other bedroom. Great quality for a mattress in a box!

First of, I am writing this review on this super comfy mattress! I just might not leave my room ever again. Pet approved. I was leary of purchacing a mattress off of Amazon, but this beauty is wayyyyy better than the POS that I bought at the mattress store. Once opened, it was ready to go, not smooshed at all. As other reviews state, there really wasn't a chemically smell after opening. Great value, sooo comfy and it looks just like the picture. Very acurate thickness.FOLLOW THE OPENING INSTRUCTIONS!!!I am not sure what wizzardy magic was used to get this HUGE ass mattress in a tiny tube, but sorcery was used. I am still in awe that the mattress arrived in such a small box.Now it has VERY clear opening instriuctions on where and how to cut the plastic to open. It even has cute little "cut here" dashy marks and comes with a special opener so you don't damage the mattress. You cut it vertically instead of horizontally. (this will make sense when you open it) Well, my brother was trying to be helpful, and did not follow the instructions on where to cut, (even though I told him so) and this mattress EXPLODED open with such force it knocked him 5 feet into the wall. No one was hurt, and it was hystericaly funny, but DAMN. It had the force of an RDE. So long story short, make sure you cut along the "cut here" dashy marks.

The mattress is comfortable and worth the price. I sleep well on it and it seems as good as any other mattress. I would say it’s semi firm. And if you have a run of the mill frame you will need a box spring even though the advert says you don’t need one.
