Astonishing value, top grade steels, ultra sharp, needs a hone / strop
I am a professional sharpener for among other products, knives. I saw an independent peer testing this knife which uses aerospace manufacturing methods from powder steel, as seen at the heart of a jet engine. Ultra hard at the core, this is genuine jacketed Damascus steel and takes an 11° grind, mostly I use 15° for clients as very many steels cannot take a sharper edge nor keep it. Out of the box it has 22° total angle edge but it’s not honed so produces a coarse test cut, a moment on the hone wheel and it’s as smooth as silk. This has to be the least expensive genuine Damascus blade, with a 60 plus hardened edge capable of taking 11°. I can as a pro recommend this product As a footnote only CBN or diamond will sharpen steel this hard incorporating Vanadium carbide. Don’t think normal abrasive will work
