Is this suitable for someone with scoliosis?

I have scoliosis too and was wondering the same. I guess it depends which part of your back is curved. Mine is the lower back, my specialist said they wouldnt give me an nhs back brace as you "need to be like twiggy", so in theory a back brace support should work... given the price it may be worth taking a chance.

My mum has recently been diagnosed with arthritis in her back, would this help with the pain she has?

I would imagine so. I have two bulging discs & its heaven wearing this support belt. The support is amazing & for the price it's worth buying to try it out for your mum. Good luck!

how often should I wear the belt

I think that you should wear the belt as much as possible. I wear it daily and, having got used to it, wear the belt from the time I get dressed in the morning to late evening. I wear it over my clothes, which I find more comfortable. Obviously if I have to go to the toilet I take it off but then replace it immediately. I don't wear it when I go out as it is quite bulky under clothes but will wear it for a while before going out and as soon as I get home. Do hope that this helps you.

Is this breathable or can you get quite sweaty wearing it?

I wear belt about 6h a day no problem with sweating or getting hot
