The Best Martens I've Ever Owned
My first pair of Martens cost £9.50 circa '73 so if anyone knows, it's me. These are the first vegans I've owned and easily the most comfortable. First week, Mon-Fri 8hrs P/D, extremely comfortable, very soft. No breaking in required. True to size, exceptional finish. They look great. The quality is 1st class. Highly recommend. Male Size 12's - Age 63 & 3/4.

Good quality, very comfortable
Bought them for my son, they look good quality and he says they are very comfortable. He wore them right away and hasn't had any issues with breaking them in which is sometimes the case. I would say they are a good buy and will hopefully stand the test of time.

Recommended 💯
I had to wear these boots everyday to get them settle on my feet. Yes they squeak but once broken in the squeak on the asphalt is reduced. They are awesome, I would definitely recommend. Yes they are worth the cost, as for the size though, I bought a size 9 and add a sheepskin insole and with my regular socks Its the most comfortable and warmest boots I have. So far, I wear them everyday, rain and all and its proven to be durable and I haven’t polished it since and it maintains its colour.

Ethics + Quality = Fantastic Product
For almost as long as I can remember I have swooned over the delightfully punk boots that are Dr Martens. Durable, comfortable and fashionable, DMs have a reputation for being some of the best boots on the market with only one problem: they are made from leather, or in other words, the skin of a dead animal. Years after Dr Martens pulled their original vegan line, the non-leather boot is back but apart from the tiny phrase 'Suitable for Vegans' printed on the insole, it's almost impossible to tell that these are made with entirely man-made materials. I've even had a few comments along the lines of "I didn't think vegans wore leather shoes" before I was able to explain that they were imitation. The same thing goes for durability and comfort: the boots feel and act as if they were made from real leather but with the added bonus of a shorter wearing-in period. As far as fashion goes, the boots maintain the classic DM look but with a few subtle differences from their leather counterparts such as the gold eyelets rather than black and a slight two-tone effect which are both nice touches. At a similar price to the leather versions I would recommend these to anyone, vegan, vegetarian, omnivore or space alien, because they are simply wonderful. Thank you Dr Martens for bringing ethics and quality together, it's just a shame there aren't more colours available or I would be buying several more pairs.

Versatile and durable (tips for care)
If you’re like me and love the look and durability of leather boots, but find the thought of wearing a dead animal’s skin on your feet sad and kinda gross, these boots are probably the best compromise. They’re not as waterproof as real leather and they are also not breathable, which means polish won’t nourish them as effectively as with real leather. On the other hand, I’ve worn these boots constantly for 4 months for everything from 3 hour dog walks to going out clubbing (they’re not heavy and they go great with all my outfits). I’ve managed to keep them as good as new by washing off mud and dirt with a damp cloth and then brushing on a layer of regular black shoe polish (I only bother with one layer as the polish just sits on top and gets knocked off easily). I found that the yellow stitching around the bottom (which I love) can fade if it gets muddy or if you polish over it. If this happens you can restore it by squirting a bit of washing up liquid on an old toothbrush and giving it a scrub all the way round. In terms of the fit, I have quite narrow feet but these boots are quite a wide fit. I get on fine with these boots that are the same size as all my other shoes but I’ll usually have to wear 2 pairs of socks. I would recommend these boots without hesitation; In my opinion the price is easily justifiable because of the smart look and durability. I’m pretty confident that I’m not going to need another pair of boots for a very long time.

Nice enough but OOF! Stinky feet!
These came up cheap so i grabbed them. I've also got a pair of leather Pascal DMs, and a pair of the industrial DMs, so how are these in comparison? The 'Pleather' is much lighter than leather, but it is soft and after a few days starts to crease nicely. They look enough like leather to get away with, only when you place them next to a leather pair do you notice the difference, which is minimal. The rest of the boot is the same as the leather DM fit wise I find. The only problem I have is that they make my feet sweat and the boots started to smell after just one day wearing these to work. Day 2 I fitted an anti-odour insole but even that's struggling. I've now had to clean them out with a spray. By comparison I've worn my Pascal DMs for months all day at the office and they don't smell sweaty at all. So if you're a Vegan and want DMs, these are your only option, but the 'Pleather' has none of the natural breathing or insulating properties of real leather. I wouldn't buy these again.
