No more wasted electricity
Since using this product I’ve noticed a reduction in the electricity used because: I personally use the lowest brightness often and they turn off at times they really don’t need to be on by setting up routines through the sengled home app.Sometimes one of the kids might leave a bulb on but with the routines you can set with these bulbs they turn themselves off during the morning and stay off until the evening. it’s making huge differences already.Installation was easy and I’d recommend using Ethernet so that the Internet has a good constant connection to the hub and the bulbs. The variable brightness is good and at maximum they are very bright, lowest setting they are still bright but also I’ve noticed I’ve not been awake so late in the evening due to all the brightness a normal bulb would produce.I’d recommend these for someone looking to try out smart bulbs to see what difference it could make to your life especially in a busy family household

Very straight-forward setup and bright
Plug it in and tell Alexa to search for new devices. That’s it. You’ll probably need to spend a bit of time in the app giving your bulb a more appropriate name (like where it is in your house), but other than that, easy enough.I didn’t know it was dimmable until I tried it. It goes up in increments of 10% which is enough. One hundred percent is bright! I have mine at 10% and that’s still good for bedroom illumination.

DOES NOT SUPPORT 5GHZ WIFI
Once the item was finally set up it is great, please note that it does not support 5GHZ WiFi, upon doing further research the listing is incorrect, the SengLED website and instructions that come with the product also state it does not support 5GHZ WiFi. But there are some work arounds.Firstly you need to separate out your 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks which the instructions tell you to do anyway, I already have this done so not much of an issue. You will need to set it up on the 2.4ghz network, once set up you can then go back to the 5ghz network on your device and you can still control the lights, so not too much of an issue. The item does work as it should and set up was relatively simple but did have some connection problems.

Best thing I never realised I wanted
I bought this as part of a bundle deal when I got a second Echo Dot and they are great together. I'd considered getting Hive bulbs since I got my original Dot with Hive heating controls when I got a new boiler. Bulbs seemed to be a bit of a gimmick, but these were cheap enough to experiment with. With my living room light already on a smart plug (another flash deal from Amazon) two bulbs were fine for my needs. I put one on the Landing and one in the bedroom. You have to install the Sengled app on a phone, and I might use that to control lights if I'm away, but they really come into their own when controlled by Alexa. I can just say "Alexa, Goodnight" and the downstairs light goes off and the upstairs ones come on. I then get Alexa to turn them off individually as I get ready for bed. When I wake up I can turn the light on without groping for a switch before I'm properly awake. There are various programmable modes for turning lights on and off on a pattern if I'm not there. I've set them up but haven't used them yet. I did try out the Wake Up mode that makes a light get slowly brighter but, since you set each day of the week separately, had to remember to turn it off over Easter. Turning lights on from your phone is good for impressing neighbours when you're looking at your house from their living room :-)Looking at the bulbs, it's hard to tell the difference from them being set at 10% and 100% but you notice the change in the ambient light in the room. Programming appears to reside in the hub, so accidentally turning off a switch doesn't appear to clear settings, a problem I've seen mentioned for other Smart BulbsIf Amazon offer this bundled with Echo in another sale, I'd definitely recommend it if you're not already committed to another Smart system

Stopped working
They were okay but now keep disconnecting how do you have to completely reset it through the app to make it work again. Unfortunately the last time this happened the app with no longer let me log in on either my phone or iPad it just kept timing out. The issue did not only affect me but my girlfriend who has the same bulbs and hub at her house and could also not log in to the app

Excellent Product - Recommend - Easy to set up
This product is AMAZING. The hub is mini sized (Less intrusive) , well built and easy to connect. Even easier to set up. I have a couple of WiFi smart bulbs, and they were fiddly to set up. The Sengled hub is much, much easier to set up. It own app is great, and integrating with Alexa is simple. Managed to set up and get working perfectly first time without any stress. Well packaged. Recommended, worth every penny.

don't buy if subject to power cuts
These work ok, if you figure out how to do a complete reset and start from Adam and Eve. The problem, you will be doing exactly that, again, EVERY time you have a power cut. And this involves going back to the (not especially intuitive) Seng-Led app to hunt for the Hide-n-Seek champion hub. Which for some reason, usually requires a complete reset before it deigns to be found again. Then, you can re-add to Home or Alexa or whatever, which to be fair, usually works without problem. Right up until there is a power cut, or you trip the mains switch. Sigh. The hubs absolutely need to handle power loss better, otherwise, way too much faffing around. Personally I'd say, you want a simple life? - avoid 'smart' lamps that use hubs at all when possible.

If buying from Amazon Warehouse flick switch 10 times!
These bulbs are great! If you're buying them used or from Amazon Warehouse install them and flick the switch 10 times rapidly, the bulbs will flash 4 or more times. This resets the bulbs allowing them to pair with a hub.The bulbs have Alexa and Google Home integration, I chose to use Google Home and have timers. The only negative with all smart bulbs is that they need to be turned on at the source (the switch) to be controlled by the app.
