Incredibuilds Firefly Serenity Book and 3D Wood Model Kit

Taking about 3hours to build (including trimming pieces with a razor blade), I found it challenging but not due to a bad design. The previous model I built, I painted in advance (combination of wood stain & alcohol-based dyes), but it was much larger & easier to see in advance how it all went together (despite being more pieces - it was also a model of something that was also wood, so stain & dye was perfect) & this one specifically recommended painting afterwards, so I took their advice. This made painting a challenge, but it was probably good advice. I’ve only started the painting (base-coat + started the black wash), but so far that’s been as much fun as building the model. Considering the shape of the ship, I’m extremely impressed with how faithful the model is with only 150-or-so flat pieces … the shuttles could be a little more detailed, but all in all, I’m super-satisfied.

I got this for my husband for Christmas. He loves models, although he has typically worked with plastic models. We both love Firefly and are so sad it never has been picked up and relaunched. He was so excited to see a model of the serenity! The assembly was pretty straightforward. He hasn't painted it yet but it is in the cue. I can't wait to see what it looks like when he finishes it! All in all great product. We look forward to getting more IncrediBuilds as they are great model kits and they have several that you can't find elsewhere! Definitely recommend!

I'm rewatching Firefly and loving it as always. Always thought the fanciful design of the ship Serenity was cool, especially in the silence of space. Found this model online I just finished putting it together. The experience of assembling the model was very pleasurable. Challenging without being frustrating, and throughout the process I marveled at the clever intricacy of the design. The finished model is an abstraction of an imaginary object, but fascinating to all who see it. Well worth it.

This is a very good laser-cut model that is reasonably easy to assemble for experienced model makers, but those not experienced in model-building shouldn't have too difficult a time. All the pieces fit together very well; I only needed to add the occasional drop of white glue to shore up some loose fits. The model is small; it's only about the length of my hand, so detail can be lacking, but a good artist can make up for that. The only real issue is the assembly instructions. There are a few steps where the instructions don't make it clear on exactly how the next piece should be added to the model. However, a little trial and error will allow you to sort that out, especially if you're relying on friction to hold the model together.

Finding any models that have to do with firefly or serenity are very few and far between. So I was very very happy when I stumbled upon this model. As some points was kind of difficult to put together but that’ll make some fun I am very happy with the quality and just how much fun it was to put together I recommend it to anyone who is a sci-fi fan firefly fan or just looking for a little challenge.

I purchased this model for my husband, who is a huge Firefly fan. He's done some other models in the past and wanted to try something a bit easier. This was a fast, easy build. He was planning to paint it, but after assembly, decided he liked the raw wood look.

Solid little wood puzzle. Piece fit nicely together and the entire ship when completed feels solid. Ship like this will be with you till the day you die. Shiny!

This model was easy to assemble, it took less than an hour. The instructions were easy to follow.
