The American Standard of Perfection, Illustrated. A Complete Description of all Recognized Varieties of Fowls Paperback – August 21, 2017

It is my fault for looking for a title rather than a specific release of a book ,I found this book in my results from searching for the 44th edition which would be current not 115 years out of date. That said it should have labeled outright that it was "Historical" version... All of that said much of the information it contains is still relevant and worth a read (reason for the three stars)!

Very helpful and nice. Wish it was in color or that the illustrations were better quality they are very hard to see or compare to your birds. Hopefully they will come out with an updated version soon

I guess it is what I ordered... But, I think it was unclear of exactly what I was ordering. It is a book, the standard of perfection from 1905 so it's missing at least a few breeds... The ones that have been added since 1905. If you are looking for an updated book, in color, I would order from the APA website for $59. That's what I just did since this is missing a number of duck breeds that we are looking to raise and my kids want to show.

I am deeply disappointed in my purchase.I searched for a 2020 edition of the APA SoP. I thought I was at least getting a 2017 as that is the listed publication date. HOWEVER! It is a 2017 *reprint* of a book that is now 117 years old - printed in 1905!I bought this so I could have the SoP for my birds, but most of them aren't even in this book because they weren't added until decades after this SoP was initially published. Guess that's what I get for not reading reviews. This book is literally USELESS to me for the purpose for which it was ordered.Add to that the archaic terminology, old format, and spotty copy quality and I have a useless book I can barely read. Even the illustrations are poorly replicated. Some are very dark, but semi-distinguishable. Then others look like a computer glitch on paper.I feel cheated and lied to and I am not happy about it.

Disappointed that nothing was in color for the type of book it should have been in color to be able to recognize the difference between breeds

I tried to like it, but the poor, faded quality of the reproduction is disheartening. It did the 'immediate' job, but I will look elsewhere, and undoubtedly pay more, for a better copy.

Not what I expected ,not satisfied with this.

Incomplete information...not satisfied. Returned this book.
