Creative Kumihimo

I wouldn't recommend this book for beginners because it is so full of information and braid patterns, however, once a person has learned how to do the braiding with the beginners book by Jacqui Carey this book is a great in the fact that it does have different patterns that are more intricate. I would recommend this book for people who already know how to do Kumihimo braiding and want to expand their braiding abilities.

This book is full of ideas and patterns . I hope to be able to braid (kumi) most of the patterns (eventually). The pictures are clear and very informative. This is indeed a good reference book, one that I shall keep for a very long time. It is a good purchase. Paula

I would highly recommend this book for everyone but the beginner. I would suggest a beginner start off with a different book. There are many braids included in the book and I love the graphs for each braid. Every kumihimo library needs this book

Ich liebe dieses Buch, es zeigt auf kreative Art viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten, zu flechten. Zwar ist es in englischer Sprache, aber Bilder und Zeichnungen ermöglichen den Umgang damit. Meinen Marudai hat mein handwerklich begabter Bruder gebaut. Und ich freue mich immer wieder mit dem Buch und diesem Flechthocker zu arbeiten.

New to Kumihimo so needed a good ‘how to’ instruction book - and this is it. Good photos of different braids and clear diagrams on how to make them. But you do need a marudai, this is not the book for kimihimo discs.

I think this is the best book about kumihimo, maybe not for beginners (but you can practice with youtube tutorials), there are many types of brides (not just tubular shape, but also rectangular, oval..) and it teaches you how to predict the color pattern. Enjoy braiding :)

Um dos melhores livros abordando Kumihimo, arte tradicional de origem japonesa para trançar fios. Apresenta diversos tipos de trançados, com fotos e excelente explicação sobre como executar os trançados. Acredito que ele é indicado para quem já ter algum conhecimento em Kumihimo.
