KarrimorSF Ruck Sack Predator side pocket (Olive)

Very useful and look good
I have this attached to my Sabre 45 Karrimor SF backpack also in Olive. The colour is an exact match as I had hoped. Velcro Fastenings for the pockets in addition to the straps and buckles. Very useful and look good, helping to keep things I need closer-to-hand accessible. While not waterproof they do a good job of keeping the contents dry in light drizzle. Recommended.

Pure Genius!
Saw these and had to get them!I've got a Berghaus Vulcan (older version that is PLCE compatible) and do not often require the extra capacity of the side pouches, however removing them leaves the sides of the bergen bare and unused. These looked like the perfect solution: trading the excess capacity of the side pouches for the accessibility of these pockets. They arrived a day earlier than anticipated and the first impression is excellent. They appear very well made and give the bergen a much more streamlined profile so it's less likely to catch on random branches. Having bought two of these (one for each side), I now have easy access for all my immediate needs: cooker, fuel & meals, waterproofs, first aid kit, and snacks. Furthermore, the design of these PLCE modules is such that I can fit my hydration system between the pouch and my bergen, attached with compression straps on one side and, on the other side, my inflatable roll mat (just about) fits in the inside pocket (on the reverse of the pouch unit). The only nagging doubt is whether or not the inside pocket on the reverse of the pouch units will catch and collect any water when open to the elements. The gap is not particularly wide but it is only held closed by a small tab of velcro and the squeeze between the pouches and the bergen.UPDATE (after first use): I noticed a big difference just stepping out of the door in that I was able to walk out normally as opposed to sideways! Aside from that the side pockets are still large but there was very little branch-catching as I walked along narrow paths in woodland. There wasn't any rain over the weekend so I was unable to test my concern but I've decided that if it does become an issue, I'll cut the inside pockets off with scissors. After my weekend excursion, I had a re-think about how I use these. In future, I will be attaching them at the side nearest my back only (remembering I bought 2) then zipping the two loose ends together. This massively reduces the girth of my bergen by using the pouches to effectively create a 'belt' around it. I've used a webbing strap to support some of the load at the centre of the arrangement and the male clips on the pouches fit the female ends on my bergen lid allowing me to easily secure it (without having to dig underneath the new arrangement for the actual clips). The pockets whose clips I used for my bergen lid are kept shut by the incorporated velcro.SUMMARY: Well made, very tough and an excellent option to trade excess capacity for increased accessibility.

An improvement to my sabre 45
This item fits the left hand side of my sabre 45, I'd like something for the right side too. I prefer the organisation potential of these over the standard 12.5 litre single pouch. What I didn't realise is that there is an extra 3 pockets, without closures, behind the the main pockets, add these to the 3 main pockets and the long rear one it gives me 7 options. I moved to the saber for winter from a rush 24 and I missed the organisation of pockets. This item has given me some. If I find something for the right hand side I'll be fully sorted. Of the two compression straps on the sabre that can pull in the basic side pouch only the upper one can be used and it fits between the upper and lower compartments. A little smaller in volume that the basic side pouch but my pack is not as wide now.If you want to keep stuff dry you will need to use dry bags inside the pockets as they do not close in a way that is water tight and I do wonder if the rear pocket will fill with water in heavy rain as it has no drain holes although I could make a couple with a hot nail if it is a problem.

Fine for WWI re-enactments, maybe.
I was not impressed with these side-pouches. Sure, they fit onto the UK-issued daysacks and bergans with no problem, but the lack of loops on the reserve to allow them to be attached to something like a Munro is a little irritating, especially since the Munro is so popular and the Karrimor pouches do claim to be compatable with other brands' products. We all now how ubiquitous the Munro is, after all. What they do have, in addition to the zips, is 2 straps that attach with velcro. What use they are, I cannot tell. Nonsense. But despite this, rather than give me something that created a load more flexiblity with my load-carrying equipment, it just looks...well, a bit World War I. The clips and velcro just don't work well together, or independently, without a lot of bits and clips and straps flapping about. It just doesn't look smart, and functionally, it's fiddly. Saying that, the build quality is excellent and it won't fail on you. It's just not my mug of Bovril.

Keeps me from opening the whole pack to find what I'm looking for. But it does make the pack a little wide.

Gut
Eine super Seitentasche für meinen Karrimor Sabre 45, macht ihn nicht so breit, wie die Side Pockets - ist aber leider etwas teuer - war es aber Wert.
