Was looking forward to using this beard trimmer by Wahl and I haven't been disappointed as of yet. Even though it was the most expensive beard trimmer I have ever purchased, it has definitely been worth it thought. Great value for the money and the cut quality has been fantastic so far. The convenience factor of it being cordless and it lasting very long between charges is extremely helpful, and the ease of use is a piece of cake anyone can do it.

Great for the fashionista in your home that cares about cleanliness and looking professional

This is an impressive little grooming unit. I appreciate its comfortable feel, how easy it is to clean, and the accuracy of its cuts. A definite plus is the included accessories, especially the ear and nose trimmer, which I find very useful. I've also found it to be quite effective for precisely touching up my eyebrows. The rechargeable battery provides a good amount of usage, lasting for a couple of weeks before needing a recharge. However, I did want to mention that the life of the Lithium Battery was just over 2 years. One important thing to note is that once the battery eventually dies, you cannot simply plug it into the recharger and continue to use it as a corded shaver; unfortunately, the battery must be replaced. I encountered some difficulty finding the correct replacement battery directly on Amazon and ultimately had to purchase it from Bigupgadgets.com. The specific battery I needed was identified as a "Battery for Wahl 93836-200, p/n# 93836-200." Please be aware that the installation process requires soldering the battery leads.

Wahl is my goto for shaving. They make a quality product. Also they don't change the mechanism for attaching trimming accessories. My old Wahl's button deteriorated after 20 years so I got a this new one which came with new accessories and I can still use older ones that are different if I want. This works just as good as the old one too.

2nd edit: I bought this in 2020, and the botton broke off within a year. Bought another in 2021, and the button broke off within a year. Passing on another 2022 purchase. I keep a beard, so only used these every 4 days at MAX when really keeping it clean. I was especially careful with the second one, no travel, used intermittently, always sprayed clean with barber's Clipper Care, and no drops or falls (by avoiding the stand it comes with). Guess that's why I'm so miffed that it still broke, and in the same way/place. Worked decently well before they both broke, I don't want to lie. Less catching on hair than other trimmers. But, breakages totally aside, a trimmer is only as good as the guards, and these are cheap and easily bent. The short guards work better, though the difference in distance from the tip of the blade to the tip of the guard, and the bottom of the blade to the bottom of the guard, mean that they cut at different hights with the same guard on depending on the angle you hold. The blades longer than 1/2" are unreliable, and I need 3-4 passes on any line to lift hairs to cut evenly as the guard combs have very wide teeth, allowing a lot of hair to pass between. The stand is very light and thin stainless steel, so is easily knocked over as the trimmer makes it quite top heavy. This is especially true while charging as the included cable is heavier than the stand, pulling it over with the weight and bends of the cable itself. This happened with the first a lot. The trimmer head even broke from it tipping over after a while, but I don't blame drop breaks on the manufacturer. The second was never dropped however, and broke in the same way. What it did do well, was trim close without nicking the skin. Not as close as an elecrtic shaver, and cuts to about a 5 o'clock shadow level. But, it doesnt nick skin because the trimmer teeth are sharp but very close, and for someone with sensitive skin that's a bigger bonus. All in all, not worth the price to me as a repeat buyer. Sure, maybe I'm unreasonably rough on it or maybe just unlucky, but these this sure seems like designed failure to me as it's the only exposed part that's not metal and it happend in the same way, in the same place, within the same time frame, across very different care conditions.

I'm on my third Wahl Stainless Steel Trimmer. That says it all. I love these trimmers, but they don't last. The same thing always defeats them: water corrodes the switch. The first one was within warranty, and Wahl replaced it free of charge; the second was out of warranty, and Wahl offered to fix it for twenty dollars, but I couldn't go to work looking like a caveman, so I bought another out of pocket. Why not give up on them? To my mind, they are just too good otherwise. The trimmer has a beautiful shape, which fits my hand and my face. It has a heft that you don't find in most appliances these days. The finish is gorgeous—it sits right next to my safety razor and my shaving bowl. The battery lasts forever on a single charge. The attachments are excellent. But most of all, I simply enjoy using it. Perhaps I'll try to be a bit more careful. Wipe it down after shaving with oil. Probably not. Probably in six years I'll buy another one. But the trimming between now and then will be right, and that is enough.

Excellent product, and this is my second one ordered after 7 years good use with my previous one. I definitely recommend going the extra few dollars, and purchase a shaver with lithium ion battery, vs non lithium. I do wish the attachable combs are labeled larger, and some basic info on two different combs being the same size.
