This is a great mat! It’s thick, durable, and easy to clean. I just shake it off and toss it in the washer and dryer, and it comes out looking like new. Even though it’s meant for under high chairs or arts and crafts, I actually use it under my parrot’s cage, and it works perfectly! It catches all the mess and stays in place.I highly recommend it for anyone needing a sturdy, waterproof floor protector.

UPDATE BELOW Yes, yes, yes! Gone are the days of getting on my hands and knees to wipe clean the floor after every meal. So here’s the deal—my 20-month old loves to throw his food, despite our best efforts to redirect and teach him not to. It’s a phase that’s lasted longer than we anticipated, and I was getting so tired of cleaning the floors multiple times a day. Prior to buying this splat mat, we used one of those disposable table cloths—the kind with the waterproof plastic top and felt bottom. That works fairly well until it started ripping from getting caught in our son’s Boon Flair highchair wheels. I initially thought $24 was a bit steep for a piece of fabric meant to catch food, but after using it for a couple of weeks, I can attest to it being worth every penny. I love how the bottom is grippy, allowing us to easily roll his highchair on and off the mat. The waterproof quality of the fabric is fantastic, and the arrows print against the grey background is lovely and neutral. It also doesn’t stain and washes up nicely and easily in the washer. Though the directions say to hang dry, I’ve dried it in the dryer with no ill-effects. The only wish I have is that it be a tad wider because my son’s arm is pretty good and food occasionally flies outside the width of the mat. Aside from that, this is a wonderful splat mat. Update August 2019: My son is now past the food-throwing phase as he is approaching 3 years old, but that doesn’t mean this handy little splat mat is collecting dust. We’ve used this for Play-Doh, painting, and kinetic sand. It’s fantastic for containing/catching messes! My once-grey mat is now covered in a rainbow of paint splatters from my little budding artist’s creations, but I kind of love it because it reminds me of all the fun he’s having being a toddler. If you get this mat for your new eater, definitely consider keeping it for the toddler years as it will continue to prove its worth.

Bought this to put under my baby’s high chair. It’s a great size and was easy to shake out and throw in the washer! Never had a problem with the smell, texture, or weight. Good quality and affordable product to manage the mess of baby meals.

I'm a big fan of Dr. Ian Dunbar and his method to 'foolproof' puppy rearing. Limited your puppy's access to potential trouble is a great way to set them up for future success and teach them the rules of the house in small increments, so that there is more rewarding and less unfortunate "oopsies!" The more you can reduce accidents—whether it's potty accidents, chewing, or breaking other houserules—the faster your puppy learns! A big part of this is making sure they have a space where they can stretch out during the parts of the day when you won't be around to keep a constant eye on them, while still being in a controlled environment. Puppy pens are SO handy for this! And although, ideally, your puppy is still being taken out often enough that accidents won't happen... anyone who's raised a puppy knows, the process is far from perfect. Whether your puppy playpen is going to be on hardwood, tiles, or carpet—these baby spill mats are GREAT for protecting your floors! It makes cleanup so much easier. I had my playpen set up in my office, which unfortunately is a carpeted environment... not very forgiving of urine. 10/10 for sturdiness. It survived a teething Siberian pup, so it can probably survive anything else you throw at it. Cleans up easily with wipes, a hose-down, or a toss into the wash.

We have 2 of these. First one has been washed 5 times, gentle, hang to try, working great. We have a 1 year old. Caution about the colors. The one with the arrows is grey, not light blue. I thought it would be light blue from the pictures. The one with the spots is nice, except that our 1 year old loves blue berries, the blue berries hide in the blue dots and often gets stepped on. If you want to hide a stain, the dots are great, if you want to know where the blueberries and foods are to pick it up, not so great.

I bought this for when my 2 year old grand daughter visits. I used it under her chair at Christmas and she spilled spaghetti sauce all over it (and none of the sauce touched my wool carpet!). It washed up easily in the washer and was ready for the next day - quickly air dried over night. It's thick and non-slip. A really cute pattern also. I'll be using it for play dough and paints on my table in the future. Good buy. Must have!

We purchased this "splat mat" in October 2021. As we reach almost two years of daily use, we couldn't be happier. It has been an integral part of feeding our child - it's saved our wood floor countless times from liquid spills and food drops. Plus, clean up is easy - just fold it in half and carry everything to the sink. In the early days, we found it easier to machine wash every few days, about 6months in switched to approximately 1x/week, and about 18mo in switched to biweekly/as needed. Even with all that washing, it still does a great job resisting liquid spills and the bottom sticky material is just starting to wear in a few small spots (and not enough to cause concern at all as the mat still resists moving when a highchair/chair is moved on top). There are a few areas where the food stains left their mark (i.e. gray of the mat is slightly discolored), but we'd rather that mark be on the mat than on our floor so we see it as a job well done!

Love it perfect size no slip is a big plus and the price is super afforable!

Very bad product, within a month the thin outer plastic torn off in many places. Don't buy this product. The plastic sheet itself is very thin and the plastic which is comming off is very dangerous the babies may put it in their mouth.

Works well and cleans easily. I use it under my kids little table when they do water or sensory play. A good size for my toddlers.

Love this product! It's waterproof and washes so well. I typically hang to dry overnight and it's ready to go the emct morning. With three young children we have multiples of this mat. If you're looking for something to keep the dirt and grunge off your floors from little ones at meal and snack time, this is the one to get.

Gets torn like butter. Got it replaced but still I got torn one. Even the bag gets torn . Heavily priced when you compare with quality.

Really love this mat. We have hardwood floors and I thought it would be no big deal to simply wipe up after every meal. I was wrong - it’s so much easier having this mat, just give it a quick rinse or wipe and hang to dry and it saves so much time and hassle trying to clean up dried up gunk on the floor. As others have said the quality of this mat is fantastic - much thicker than I thought it would be and the grippy underside is awesome. I think we’ll get many years of use of our this thing. Highly recommend!
