I read a lot of cookbooks and am familiar with Ottolenghi’s other work, and appreciate it. But this one is the best so far! Not only is the premise interesting (what makes comfort foods comforting across different cultures and diasporas), but the recipes are very well thought out. Just reading it is sparking ideas for variations, or sending me down other side quests. That’s my ideal kind of cookbook; I can learn from it, and it’s fun to read!
