Gilmour 13 Brass 2-Way Connector - Love It!
I have a fairly large property with several gardens in different areas. The vegatable garden is over one hundred feet from the other three and watering was difficult. I have a 100 foot hose and would have to drag it across the lawn in three different directions in order to water the gardens as there is only one outside water spout available. When a friend of mine told me about the 2-way connector and how beneficial it would be to me, I ordered it. I was able to hook up two hoses enabling me to water the three gardens out front with one hose and leave the longer heavier hose out back for watering the vegatable garden. The connector has been a life saver. It is solid, doesn't leak, very easy to use, the shutoffs for each hose work great, and I'm thrilled to have it. It has saved me alot of extra work and I would recommend it to anyone. Great product.

Solid brass never wears out
I bought this when I bought the: Lixit Original Dog Faucet Waterer to enable me to use my hose while still providing water for the dog. I love this item. I found the small knobs hard to turn when I held it in my hand but once it was mounted solid on the faucet they turn easily and only a little bit of movement is needed. I use this item daily and it is still like new. A family member bought one from a store the same brand but it had plastic knobs instead of brass. I have found plastic holds up maybe one season when it comes to hose connectors. I only buy solid brass. I would highly recommend this item. It is simple. It works. It should outlive you!

Good. WARNING: may be different in hardware/home store
Warning. i was in a hurry to get a couple of these and went to a home store. The brass Gilmour splitters there seemed to be of inferior manufacture and were packaged differently. Some even had the plastic handles. I would not recommend buying them except at Amazon unless you are familiar with them and can distinguish the inferior make. These are durable brass and will hold up outdoors for years. The brass handles are close together which can be inconvenient. But the alternative is a splitter with plastic handles that break off. What is left is small and sharp -- it can hurt to turn them with your bare hand. Also with the non-brass splitters, the little ball valves leak with usage. One little ball valve actually blew out and went whistling past my head. This, I suspect, could also happen with the cheaper Gilmour brass versions that I have seen in stores.A problem with even these better Gilmours is the silly plastic ring which only gets in the way. It will eventually break off with use and good riddance.I describe how to distinguish the better from the worse Gilmours in my review of the 4 way splitter.UPDATE:The other day I bought a Gilmour product that looked brass in the artificial light of the store, but once I pulled it out in broad daylight -- clearly some **** metal. One more thing to watch out for with Gilmour

Good, strong connector
I replaced an old worn out connector with this one. I preferred to have the least amount of plastic on my new connector, as the plastic seems to weather and wear out and break quicker than the brass or metal does. The only plastic material on this connector is at the actual faucet fitting tightener. The faucet fitting connected and tightened well with no leaks. You can see in the display picture that the faucet tightener has some raised stations on it, which makes tightening it so easy for my arthritic hands, and that was a real plus. The on and off valves worked smoothly and were easy to manipulate. All of the fittings, from faucet to hoses had no leakage at all. This was a good purchase for me. I think it will work just fine for quite a few years.

Excellent quality, great design
You wouldn't think that a 2-way splitter would be a difficult purchase but there are splitters and then there are splitters. This item is easily five-star out of the box. First, I was able to connect it to an outside faucet that was right up against the wall of the house. The black top allowed me to tighten the connector sufficiently tightly to eliminate leakage. Note that the whole unit does not have to turn, just the top connector. Secondly, the two on-off valves turned easily and tightly sealed the connector when off without leakage. Lastly, the fit and finish were excellent with no burrs on the threads or marks on the body. Now if it continues to operate well, it will continue to receive the highest rating I can give it.

Very Heavy
I was impressed when I felt how heavy this connector is. I was worried when I couldn't get the on/off valves to budge. They wouldn't move at all. Before I gave up and sent it back, I got out a pair of pliers. Success! After they had been turned once using the pliers, I could then turn them by hand. I like the grip that helps you to attach the connector to the faucet so the switches can stay facing out. The fit was tight and there was no leaking. I anticipate this connector will last for a very long time.

Works well and doesn't leak, but.......
I like this 2-way connector in that it really doesn't leak (except for when my wife leaves the hose charged overnight it'll drip a tiny bit). There are two things I don't like about it though. First is that the small knobs to turn hoses on and off need to be twisted the wrong direction. Remember righty tighty, lefty Lucy? Yeah, well that's wrong. Second is that it comes with a big warning that says this product contains chemicals known to cause cancer - wash hands after use. Really? I have a two year old son so that really freaks me out a bit. When I first got this I was wearing gloves and washing my hands every time I touched it. Definitely didn't want my son near it. I've since stopped worrying about it as much, but it bothers me they couldn't find another chemical to use that doesn't cause cancer. Not even sure why they need weird chemicals for this. It's brass and plastic.

Great product!
I love these! They were very easy to just screw on then I was able to hook my washer and my garden hose to either hot or cold as I got one for each. I can easily shut one side off and undo my garden hose without having to turn off the washer. I have had them for 2 years now and they are still holding up great!
