Mountain HardwearMen's Summit Grid Hoody

These are first impressions I have yet to wear the hoodie out or test how it does in cooler weather but I am familiar with other fleece mid layers and this one is of high quality. The stitching is all very neat and well done and the grid fabric is relatively soft for those of you who don't wear anything under it. Other reviews mention that the sizes run small but that is not my experience. I'm a pretty big guy my chest measures 48" and the XL fits me great. I like the quarter zip and the height of the collar though i can tell the zipper may rub against my neck. Those of you with sensitive skin may notice some irritation if you don't wear anything under it. The height of the collar is up to just below the chin and the hood is super low profile. It follows the shape of your head and the elastic draw strings are super easy to tighten. I could definitely see this being worn under a ski helmet with no issues. For how thin the fleece is I am surprised by how warm it is. I would say it would be comfortable down to 40°f for every day wear and even lower if you're running though a wind shell would certainly help it keep you warmer. I think where the hoodie really shines is when you use it as part of a layering system. With a thermal base layer and a shell or insulated jacket this fleece will help wick moisture away from the base layer and keep you dry and warm.

This is a great piece of gear. Very warm and comfortable. Love it.

awesome shirt, husband loves it. this brand is great for him, larger, strong, barrel chested, large arms, kind of guy. cannot wear other brands, this one is great! love the waffle, washed well.

Since my husband has been wearing this almost every day since I got it for him, I'd say he enjoys it. It is long-torso friendly. Warm but not too warm. It's a nice, gray-blue color.
