Replacement Decanter, Good Quality
I ordered one of these when a Bunn coffee brewer was purchased for my church. The unit is plastic, not glass, but works well. The new decanter was ordered to accompany a new Bunn coffee maker. It's a bit pricey, but a good item. The shipping was a bit high, but I'd order one again. It also is very durable. I put the new one alongside the two identical decanters from our old coffee maker, which is over 20 years old, and you can hardly tell the new from the old. Since it is made of plastic, with a metal bottom cover, it's safer than glass too.

About as close to an unbreakable coffee carafe as you will find...
They're used in restaurants, diners, fast food joints, hotels/motels, Navy ships, military mess halls--just about anywhere there's a possibility of a coffee carafe being dropped or otherwise damaged. You've seen them, but you've probably never really used one since it was in the hands of a food service provider. Pricey, but this is the real deal. A Bunn 'steel butt' coffee carafe. Made of very tough poly-carbonate with the steel bottom plate (retains heat to keep the coffee warm). Make no mistake, these things will still exist on the Earth in 5 billion years when the sun goes supernova. OK, maybe not quite that long, but you get the idea. UPDATE 4/3/25: Since we've started using the Bunn coffee maker and carafe, we've noticed that the coffee maker is noisy. Every now and then it will start making sounds reminiscent of a jet taking off; this is just a heating cycle to keep the water in the reservoir at temperature. A little more annoying is the carafe when it starts to make 'clicking' or 'ticking' sounds. I guess in a food service environment, this isn't as noticeable, but in a quieter home setting, it can get kind of annoying. I've found a couple of different techniques to help keep things quieter: 1 Clean the pot with a dishwasher cleaning powder. We use 'Truly Free' natural dishwashing detergent. Half a scoop into the pot, brew some hot water, let it stand for a half an hour, use a long brush to put a good scrub on the interior of the pot, then rinse thoroughly. This will restore your pot to like-new shininess. And knock some of the noise down. 2 Use a cotton dish towel to 'steam clean' the heater element rests on. Note that it has to be COTTON; if you use a synthetic micro-fiber towel, it will melt onto the surface of the heater element. To steam clean, just fold the towel over a couple of times, wet a corner thoroughly, squeeze the excess water out, then wipe the heater element surface down thoroughly. Use carefully, otherwise you'll be 'steam cleaning' your fingers.

Great product
The Bunn quality is unmatched! Bought 2 new ones to replace the glass ones. Much safer to use and they do not break if dropped.

Doesn't Shatter Like The Glass Pots
I got a couple of these to replace the glass decanters that we had at work. People kept forgetting to turn off the burner before they left and we'd walk into the smell of burnt coffee and a broken pot the next morning. So far, these are working well. Maybe seeing them reminds people to turn off the burner? (I doubt it)

Durable... so far.
So far I have had this decanter to go with my VP17 coffee maker for 3 months. No issues. I thought it was glass when I bought it as I did not read the reviews thouroughly enough. However I have broken glass ones in the past accidentally so I do like that it is much more durable. Kinda hard to clean the inside of because the opening is not big enough to fit a hand into unlike many of the el cheapo ones you see for cheap coffee makers but as of yet no complaints. It pours easy and never spills a drop. Some reviews mentioned it leaks where the metal and plastic join. I have not yet experienced this issue. ** Sept 2015 Update ** Over 1 year now and this is still going strong! No leaks. Use it daily.

It's plastic
Didn't realize it was mostly plastic till I got it. Thought it was glass and metal. Works good tho. I like the way it pours. Wont break this one when it hits the tile floor.
