Good product.
I was having a hard time but I figured it out. If you are charging using USB make sure you disconnect the solar panel wire from it if not the purple light will stay on for 1 second.

Solar power
This thing is amazing! I absolutely love that it’s solar-powered—no need to worry about batteries or charging. The built-in light is surprisingly bright and super handy, and you can actually hear it working, which is oddly satisfying. Such a great little gadget!

Didn't work
I bought two of these in hopes of getting some much needed relief and some help to stave off all the mosquitoes invading my backyard. 2024 has been a tough year on trying to enjoy the outside bug free. I really liked the convenience, of being able to place these zappers anywhere you can get sunlight to charge the solar pads. While not be limited to the distance of an electrical outlet.I placed one near the front entrance of the house and at the other at the back of the house hoping it would provide enough coverage for me to once again enjoy my backyard. Let me tell you, the idea is nice but this simply did not work for me. I mounted both up, along with the provided solar panels, as the instructions suggested and excitedly waited until the next day to turn the machine on to mosquito killing mode. The next evening I went out and excitedly flipped the switch on the product. Unfortunately, the glorious purple light only stayed on for only approximately 5-seconds. This happened on each of the zappers before going dark and showing no signs of working. Despite the fully charge green light being visible.I was disappointed but did not want to give up hope. So I contacted Amazon and they quickly sent me a replacement for each zapper. So once again I eagerly set up both units, but unfortunately I was met with the same results. Despite being fully charged, the bug zapper purple mosquito light would not stay on for more than 5-seconds. But the additional white light that provides extra area lighting works perfectly fine. That is how I know it was only the mosquito killing mode that was not functional. Sadly I have to return these bug zappers and use a traditional zapper that plugs in. I hope the company fixes this issue because it is a great idea.

AN INDISPENSABLE COMPANION FOR MOSQUITO-FREE LIVING
I recently got my hands on the Solar Bug Zapper for both outdoor and indoor use, and I have to say, it's a game-changer in the world of pest control. As someone who enjoys spending time in the garden and on the patio, I was constantly battling mosquitoes and other flying nuisances. This device has transformed those experiences, and I couldn’t be more pleased.Features That Stand OutFirst off, the USB rechargeable function is a godsend. It’s so convenient not to have to worry about buying batteries or finding an outlet nearby. Just plug it in, let it charge, and you’re good to go. The solar charging capability is another excellent feature, especially if you’re into eco-friendly products like I am. It charges during the day and works flawlessly at night. The UV light is incredibly effective. It attracts mosquitoes and other bugs like a magnet. Once they’re close, the 4500V electric grid zaps them instantly. You can actually hear it working, which is oddly satisfying. No more swatting away bugs or dealing with annoying bites!Performance That ImpressesIn terms of performance, this bug zapper doesn’t disappoint. It covers a wide area, making it perfect for larger spaces like patios, backyards, or even camping trips. I was skeptical at first about how effective it would be outdoors, but it has exceeded my expectations. The bugs are drawn to it instead of me, which is exactly what I wanted. The zapper is also surprisingly quiet. You’d think with all that power, it would be noisy, but it just emits a soft hum. This means I can enjoy my evenings outside without any disturbances.Value for MoneyConsidering the range of features and the overall performance, I’d say this product offers excellent value for money. It’s well-built, durable, and does exactly what it promises. The fact that it’s versatile enough to be used both indoors and outdoors adds to its value. Whether you’re using it in your home, garden, or while camping, it’s reliable and effective.Final ThoughtsIf you’re tired of dealing with mosquitoes and other pesky insects, I highly recommend the Solar Bug Zapper. It’s a simple, eco-friendly solution that actually works. Plus, with its USB and solar charging options, it’s convenient and hassle-free. I’m thoroughly impressed and would definitely buy it again.

Works as is intended
Got this to help with knocking down the fly and Mosquito population.Sadly it didn't work that much against flies, but boy did it do wonders against, gnats , moths, Mosquitos and several other flying bugs at night.Noise Level - not that noisy, you can hear it slightly hum when on, and hear the zap when a bug comes in contact with it. But it's not noisyDesign - item has a little catch tray at the bottom, and has a solar panel up top, you can also connect the included solar panel into the type C port. The top of the trap has a light sensor that kicks then on as dusk. The light has 2 modes , lantern mode, off and then the bug zapper mode ( UV light kicks on bug zapper activates)Build quality - fells pretty light but reasonable solid (obviously not bullet proof)Outdoor use - solar panel and proper use will ensure this trap remains powered on for a reasonable amount of time every night, not sure how much long it lasts but I know mines powers on around 5:30 pm and I have seen it still on around 6:25 am as the peaking sun begins to brighten up the day, in my backyard so there is a bit of a delay from sunrise until it's bright enough to trigger the sensor to power it off.

Bug Zapper
I really enjoyed this bug Zapper when I first got it, it worked great. It's also great that it is solar powered. I have had for a few months and now the bug light does not work anymore. The regular light works but the bug Zapper light does not come on anymore which is the main reason I brought it. Not sure if it is a manufacturing issue with my light or something else with it, if it only lasts for about 2 months.
