Great, high quality game controller.
This controller feels great in my hands, and makes playing games on my phone very enjoyable. I love that it can adapt to different phones so I know I can continue to use it on multiple devices. It is high quality and a solid build. The buttons, triggers and joysticks are nice, and I cannot tell the difference from console controllers. Along with the gyroscope and vibration, every feature on this controller makes it feel like playing with my other console controllers. It even came with additional d-pads and joysticks to customize to my preference. The abxy game app is a great addition, allowing me to customize the controls and launch certain apps and games. But most importantly the controller worked right out of the box. Just plug it in and go!

Perfect Mobile Gaming Companion
Mobile gaming is finally having its moment. Cloud gaming (Luna, GeForceNow, Steamlink, Moonlight/Sunshine), emulation finally on iOS and high profile game ports require a high quality controller. The Abxylute S9 is easily the best handheld controller in its class with its ergonomics and versatility. Face button layout and texture are similar to the Hori compact split pad pro. Thumbstick height, movement and feel are about the same as the Xbox one controller. The grip style and texture and reminiscent of the Xbox one also. The triggers pull exactly the same as the Dualsense 5. The plastics and rubber feel premium. Basically, the S9 utilizes the best ideas from all of these controllers. The USB-C connection works reliably on my iPhone 16 pro max, iPad Mini 7 and Samsung S10+ in all the games I threw at it. So what separates this controller from any others? The bluetooth option. Some games will not work with usb-c like Call of Duty Mobile on Android. The S9 does not have a built in battery and instead draws power from the connected device. The controller treats bluetooth and usb-c as two complete separate things - so you can power the controller with one device and play on a second. It’s a blast to watch a game guide on YouTube or queue up music while waiting in a lobby. It also means your controller never has a dead battery or needs to sit on a charger while you wait. Pair this with something like an 8bitdo adapter and the connection options are limitless. Abxylute knocked it out of the park. Two thumbs up, highly recommend!

Abxylutely AMAZING controller!
Right out of the box, this controller impressed me with its excellent build quality. It's obvious a lot of thought went into balancing comfort, grip, and portability, and I really like the texture on the underside of it. One of its coolest features is the swappable joysticks and D-pad, allowing for easy customization to fit your gaming style, but personally I think the default options are perfect. The joysticks are great and work very well in shooters like Star Wars Hunters and COD Mobile. They are pretty much full size unlike the tiny and terrible sticks on controllers like the Backbone and Kishi V2. The Bluetooth support was a clever idea and a built in workaround for games like COD Mobile (WM Mobile is terrible) that require a Bluetooth controller, and I can confirm it works WONDERFULLY. No button mapping required. And it works great with remote play on my PS5, though I still suck at Aromed Core 6. It also has an app with a really neat launcher, as well customization options for the controller, including the ability to adjust dead zones and sensitivity. Overall I'm incredibly happy with this controller and it's definitely going to become my prefered method of playing games on my phone.

Good Software, Questionable Build Quality
I bought this for use with Steam Link and Honkai Star Rail. It works well for both (though HSR requires setting the game to controller mode each time). Switching between USBC/BT/etc modes is easy. Button mappings are what you would expect. Now, for build quality: - The left stick gets stuck when moving in the top right quarter of it's movement range. - The textured part on the back of the controller is sharp at first. - The springy part that holds the phone in place isn't very firm. You're going to want to be careful if you play in bed/laying down. None of those are deal breakers for me, but I would probably use a different device if I didn't need support for Star Rail.

Absolutely superb.
So I'm a big fan of well-designed game controllers for phones, especially since I'm addicted to both Vampire Survivors and Horizon Chase 2. This controller works a real treat. Connecting it to my iPhone 16 Pro Max take just a second, and the adjustable USB Type C port on the controller means it fits easily, even with my Apple silicone case on. With it connected, it just automatically works. Load your game with controller support, and bam - you're in! Ergonomics here are excellent, and I really appreciate the extra d-pad styles and sticks to customize to your preference. I really like the XBOX-style square d-pad, so I popped that on, but obviously your preference may vary, so do as you will! Overall, this is a quality controller. I love the XBOX layout, triggers feel just right, and analogs work a treat. Both the analogs and triggers are hall effect, so there should be no drift over time (ahem... Nintendo Switch Joy-Con...). I highly recommend this controller, and finally I have a way to game on my phone when I fancy. 5 out of 5.

The BEST Telescopic Controller
Best usb-c telescopic controller by far! The buttons on this thing are perfect. I am a little sensitive to clacky buttons, and these are great. They are still tactile, yet not so loud that they will be annoying to a significant other. I also love the option to swap the type of dpad from regular to dome style. Build quality feels solid too. I had this same controller in black, and loved it so much that I had to have it in the newer grey color. Really pairs well with an iPad Mini or other small tablets like the Lenovo Y700. No complaints. Highly recommend this to everyone who is considering. Just buy one- you won’t regret it. My only wish is that this exact same controller came in Bluetooth as well. That’s how good it is!

Performance and Functionality The S9 truly shines in terms of functionality. It supports multiple gaming modes, including PlayStation’s Remote Play, Game Pass, and GeForce Now, making it incredibly versatile. Really cool game controller for phones - turns them into PSPs!
I used to play a lot of handhelds, like the Gameboy and Playstation Portable, but had sold them long ago. I'm back into emulation on my laptop and smartphone. I just picked up a C6 for that, and it works nice on my Surface Pro and phone. But, the phone screen looks a bit too small while playing games because I'm sitting in my chair and my phone is on my desk with the C6, so the S9 looked like it could PSP my phone. The S9 arrived in an Amazon bag, so nothing besides the S9 box to protect it. The box had two taller analog sticks, two extra D-pad buttons, and a bunch of stick on phone spacers. There's three spots, two on the USB port side, one on the other side of the S9 dock to stick them, but I didn't need to use them. I couldn't figure how to get the D-pad out at first, but a sharp knife underneath it on the right arrow with a gentle nudge up popped it up. After I got it off, I saw how the pads are held down by two springy notches on the left and right - see photos. So as long as you get the left or right side of the D-pad nudged loose, the pad comes off easy. The sticks worried me right away trying to pull it off. The entire ball its on actually came up a tiny bit with a click and I was worried I broke it. I pushed it back down and the ball clicked back to the original position. To get the stick off, I used my thumbnail to hold the ball in place while pulling up on the stick with my other hand to pop it off. It'll take a bit more pull than you might think, but it won't hurt them. The instructions came with labels you can stick on your phone or controller to remind you how to switch modes and stuff. It's not that hard - just press the M button on the left grip and the home button on the right grip until the M light changes modes. The S9 is better than the C6 because it has one extra mode - PS/Playstation mode. Both also have HID, Xbox, and Switch modes. The controller instantly worked the moment I plugged in my phone. No need to do anything else. Controller test app immediately saw the controller and the buttons and sticks worked when testing. The optional Abxylute S9 app also has a built-in controller tester to make sure everything's working. I started up my favorite, Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genesis emulator. Worked fine cranking through the levels like nothing. Smooth buttons, solid grips - felt like I was gaming on my Sega Genesis again. Tested a few more games on the PPSSPP emulator. Taiko worked fine - XYAB for the small drum stick, L/R shoulder buttons for the big drum stick. Took a few minutes to settle into the groove to get my timing right since the buttons weren't like the arcade or PSP buttons, but the S9 shoulder buttons were actually better than the PSP because they're bigger and rounded versus the squarer edged PSP shoulders. Next was Wipeout. I wanted to try the gyroscope, and had to go into the PPSSPP settings to turn on the support and calibrate it - a must otherwise the ships fly goofy. Like ten seconds to figure it out and done. I actually got used to flying the ship faster than using the analog stick, and Wipeout is a lot more immersive using the gyro. Super easy to get into the groove flying this way and faster than Taiko for me to get into the groove. I tried Socom next and it was smooth going at first, then I moved in my chair and the controls went a bit wonky. I couldn't figure it out for a few seconds, then realized I left the PPSSPP gyro support on. So yeah, I could aim my pip and shoot just by leaning the S9 and I didn't need to use the stick/D-pad. That was cool to play with, so maybe I'll try playing with the gyro on, but I'm still better with the stick. Moving, shooting, locking targets, switching weapons, squatting, standing was all smooth on the S9. I tried out the PS mode with the AtherSX PS2 emulator and MGS2. Crap spare phone, so fps was in the dumps. But I was able to plug in my headphones and use the vibration on the S9 just fine. The rumble isn't exactly the same as the Playstation controllers, but it best for me on the second to highest vibration level. There's a lot of ways to customize the S9 in the Abxylute S9 app - dead zones for the sticks and triggers, XYAB button arrangement, etc, but I didn't need to tweak these because the S9 works fine out of the box. You can shortcut a bunch of favorite games for the apps home screen, update the firmware, and map on-screen touch controls to the S9 buttons and sticks. Don't play any native Android games to use that feature, so didn't test that out. Overall, the S9 feels like a great controller. Instantly turned my spare phone into a PSP and everything worked fine. The balance and feel was great, just like my PSP when I bought the launch edition from Japan, but the shoulder buttons are definitely better than on the PSP. And Sonic really runs nice with the S9, so that makes me happy. Easy to use, stretches out to hold big phones, tight springs so the phone won't drop out, and no setup - just plug in the phone and game away.

Comfortable and feels well made
I love it. It's the first smartphone controller I've owned so I can't make comparisons like for like, but it's a hell of a lot comfier to hold than a PSP original, which is what I had many moons ago when I was last gaming on the go. Switching input modes is easy, the power pass-through works as advertised, the buttons feel console-quality. My one gripe is the rubber cushions that grip either end of your phone can't be swapped as standard, so my phone case left the the USB-C connecter about a millimetre too short to reach. This seems to be a common design oversight with these controllers. I cut and peeled this end off and used it as a stencil to make a replacement out of a piece of inner tube and some VHB tape. It could certainly look prettier, but it works perfectly now.

Great controller!
The Abxylute S9 is an excellent controller for mobile and cloud gaming. It works seamlessly with Xbox Cloud Gaming, PS Remote Play, and allows you to play retro games as well as games from the App Store natively, using your phone as the display. The buttons are clicky and highly responsive, making gameplay feel precise and satisfying. The controller is lightweight and comfortable to hold for long sessions, with an ergonomic design that reduces hand fatigue. Your phone can be charged directly from the bottom of the controller while you play, and the controller itself requires power to function. If you want more flexibility, you can also use a battery pack to operate it as a Bluetooth controller. The package includes two different D-pad styles and extra joysticks, giving you customization options to suit your preferred play style. Overall, the Abxylute S9 is a versatile, well-built, and highly functional controller that’s perfect for both casual and serious mobile gaming. Highly recommended!

One of my best purchases in years – solid, stable, and feels premium
I’ve been using this controller for a little while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of my favorite tech purchases in recent years. What I love: The build quality feels solid and durable – nothing flimsy at all. Even with a small tablet attached, it stays firmly in place and feels secure. The full-size design makes it much more comfortable than those small telescopic grips. Controls are responsive, joysticks and triggers feel smooth, and the overall experience is close to using a real console controller. You can keep playing while charging, which is super convenient. Things to keep in mind: With a tablet it can feel a bit heavy after very long sessions, but that’s expected. Make sure your device’s case doesn’t get in the way of the fit or the charging port. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a controller that’s sturdy, comfortable, and works great even with a small tablet, this is an excellent choice. For me, it’s been absolutely worth it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended.
