Very nice. I’m very pleased with it.

I recently picked up the latest in the Modus line of cigar accessories, the Modus Cigar Rest and Tool Stand.This device holds your cigar when you are without an ashtray, or, as also happens, are without an appropriate, aka cigar ashtray. Those cigarette ashtrays may hold your cigar ash, but they will not properly hold your cigar, unless you're smoking a very thin stick. Even if you have access to an appropriate ashtray, using the Modus will keep your cigar from touching the dirty, slobbery trough so many have used before you.The Modus comes in very nice packaging suitable for a gift, as is typical and expected from the line, with the brand in high-sheen silver across the top of the black container. Opening the box reveals the tool itself, the all black top disappearing in the dark of the box interior except for the shine of the high polish finish on the metal. It is substantial and hefty, CNC'd from solid alloy, coming in at about 5 ounces.The Modus brand appears on the front at the base, and also on the base if you flip it over. The top has a half pipe cut into it, providing the rest for your cigar. While most smokers will have cigars in their collection that are larger ring gauge than the cutout, it more than capably handled the largest ring gauge cigars I tried with it. Even if your cigar doesn't rest entirely in the groove, there is enough space for your stick to be supported well.Looking from the top down reveals the space that can be used to hold the Modus Cigar Tool, sold separately. Even if you are using a cigar-friendly ash tray, the holder is still quite useful, as it holds your cigar tool. It also fits quite nicely in my beloved Peter James Cigar case. In looking at the Peter James website, I see that my case is a previous version to the one they are selling now, so I can't speak for the current case model. To be honest, I like my case better, fwiw.Take a look at the pics attached. This is a good looking, very functional tool from a brand that is known for good reason for both those qualities. Got this as a display stand for my modus 2 .. But when I used it as a cigar holder it was great. Heavy, well made, won't tip over when you put your cigar in it. I'm an accessory nut. I have plenty of cigar stands of every type of material. When I dropped this and wasn't picking up pieces,I knew it was my "go to" stand..Also it keeps you from putting your smoke down in other people's ashtrays. It keeps it high enough that the ash hovers over the ash tray. If you've ever been to a herf and saw spit covered nubs sitting in the ashtray, it'll make you look for an alternative to putting your cigar in one of those slots..

This a fantastic compliment to the Modus tool. Displays the modus wonderfully and it's function as a cigar rest is flawless. I can set the modus stand on the side table of the BBQ pit and have never lost a stick, no matter how hard I close the lid.

This puts the "ool" in cool! Love this stand as it compliments the Modus 2 tool...be one of the kool kids and display it beside your humidor and would make the perfect Fathers Day present...hint.😀
