This is not the book to buy if you are looking for the gorgeous background art, preliminary concept art, or fully “composed” frames of still scenes from the show. For those looking for a book of conceptual art and design for the show, you should look to KyoAni’s Violet Evergarden Chronicle [official fan book].Similarly, because these are keyframes, the artwork is not yet filled with the vibrant colors from the finished show. But this may be what makes this book an ideal gift or item to have for fan. At a hefty 150 pages on good paper stock, you will find page after page of characters from the show like Violet, Gilbert Bougainvillea, Erica Brown, etc. The keyframe art is also neatly organized by episode so it is easy to find characters and particular keyframes from each episode as you look through the book.Viewers who are particularly impressed by the quality of the art and animation of the show will not be disappointed as you will find in this book some particularly striking keyframe poses: Violet removing her gloves with her teeth, closeups of her hands, the room of students learning to be “Auto Memory Dolls,” Cattelya Baudelaire smirking in a scene with Claudia Hodgins, etc. Fans will be happy to know that you will be likely to find key or iconic character scenes here in some form in this keyframe art book.

I use this for reference for animation art and clean up, the content is neat and let's you see the key poses for the animation.

The book came with a few small dents. It was disappointing that a book costing 60ish dollars wasn’t better packaged so I subtracted one star. Aside from the dents, the cover and contents were absolutely beautiful. If you can accept a few dents from shipping, I would recommend.
