The whole seeds can be used as is or ground to provide a fresh, potent flavoring to many dishes and culinary creations.Yellow mustard seeds are the mildest of various mustards found in the world and widely used for both dry flavoring as well as mustard sauces of many types. Mustard seed use can be found in many cultural foods including India, American, Asian and European creations. I like having whole seeds on hand for a few different things.....some recipes and canning items.....some I might powder and whole seeds last long...and I do soak some in oil to eat with cheese and crackers. McCormick never disappoints in quality and have used their brand many years. Since it takes a while to use these up - I like starting out with fresh and quality to store better. This is a good sized container you usually never see in a store and definitely a good price compared to the smaller containers.

For soups, stews, and freshening up that wonderful summer salad. I’ve found more versatility in the mustard seeds than I have with ground mustard.

I didn’t use this for food, so I can’t speak to the taste but it did work well for an art project. I wanted to make small reminders of faith for my friends and family and they came out so cute! I created this project one other time before with mustard seeds from Walmart (great value brand) in comparison these McCormick seeds were more fragrant and dull in color, whereas the great value seeds had no smell and were brighter yellow.
