NitroPress DS Electric Nitro Cold Brew Coffee & Cocktail Maker Machine

I was so excited when this arrived. I had first tried the ukeg nitro growler but it was needlessly complex, and didn’t yield a good result. When I first opened the tube, which was sealed with a “QA passed” sticker, my first impression was that this is very high quality. As I prepared to test it out, the piston valve will not connect to the nozzle sleeve. It’s as if the threads are mismatched. You can see in the image, it won’t screw in any further than that. I tried for about 10 minutes before I finally contacted support. It’s a shame because the rest of the parts seem very well machined and sturdy. My only option was to return or replace. I’m waiting on my replacement and will update this review. Update. The new unit arrived. At first, I was skeptical because this new unit arrived in a lower quality package. The first one was in a nice, hunter green tube that seemed a bit more premium. This showed up in a cardboard sleeve that does not reflect the price point of this unit. But OK I’m willing to give it a shot. Well I was not disappointed! As instructed, I put 500 ML of very cold coffee into the unit. Attached the cartridge gave it a shake, and to my surprise what I got out was a glass of coffee shop quality, nitro coffee! Very pleased! The texture is exactly what I was expecting! Another plus is that this is very easy to clean, and the cartridges are standard size so you have some choice in brand and you can also use CO2 to make other carbonated beverages. I use the N2 2g nitropress cartridges. I find these do not alter the flavor of my coffee. This is expensive, but definitely delivers on the promise of easy, well-crafted nitro coffee.

The Best Nitro ColdBrew Experience! I’ve been a Nitro Cold Brew fan for many years and have been making homemade cold brew for over a decade. Back in 2018, I purchased my first nitro coffee maker that allowed me to add my own cold brew concentrate. I loved the results, but it relied on cartridges, which can become expensive over time. Over the years, I tried several other nitro coffee makers and small keg systems, but I was never completely satisfied with the results. Some didn’t even use pure nitrogen. Eventually, I discovered the NitroPress DS by Hatfields, and after using it daily for more than a year, I can honestly say it’s been a game changer. The NitroPress DS is the first system I’ve used that creates an incredible nitro experience using air instead of cartridges. Every day, it produces a smooth, full-bodied, refreshing nitro cold brew with a beautiful cascading effect that looks just like what you’d expect from a café. The texture is rich and creamy enough that I rarely feel the need to add milk, cream, or sugar. In fact, I’ve enjoyed the NitroPress DS so much that I’ve since purchased a NitroPress Pro and a second NitroPress DS for home use, events, and catering. Another feature I enjoy is the versatility. With the NitroPress canister, you can also make homemade whipped cream or soda water using the appropriate chargers. Hatfields provides plenty of recipes and ideas on their website. One thing I’ve noticed is that whenever I have guests over, or even contractors and workers at the house, I’ll often offer them a glass of nitro cold brew. Most have never tried it before, and the reaction is almost always the same—they’re impressed by the smooth texture, creamy mouthfeel, and overall experience. Many end up asking for a second glass. A couple of tips for new users: Make sure you’re using the correct charger for the application, and don’t forget to shake the canister properly to ensure the best infusion and results. For the best experience, if you’re using store-bought coffee, choose a coldbrew rather than regular brewed coffee. And be sure to drink your Nitro Coldbrew right away—don’t let it sit. It’s become part of my daily coffee routine, consistently delivers an excellent NITRO cold brew experience, and has easily been one of my favorite coffee-related purchases. The nitro cold brew machine is an excellent purchase and worth every cent. It works really well, and the best part is that there’s no need to pay for gas, making it much more practical and cost-effective in the long run. It’s not very noisy, so it’s comfortable to use, and its size is perfect for keeping it in the fridge. It’s also very fast, and the drink texture is smooth, creamy, and well achieved, noticeable from the very first sip. Ideal for anyone who wants quality nitro at home without complications.

I’ll start by saying I’m a full-blown coffee snob. I buy my own beans from small roasters, spent months researching the best burr grinder, and even have a CSA-certified coffee maker for my daily brews. So I wasn’t expecting to be impressed by a nitro setup that could work at home. But the NitroPress seriously delivers. I bought it mainly to elevate my cold brew, and it completely transforms even a basic store-bought batch into something that tastes like it came from a specialty café—super smooth, creamy, with that perfect nitro texture. What really sealed the deal is that it doesn’t require disposable cartridges. No extra waste, no running out mid-week. Just simple, sustainable, and way more convenient. I’ve also used it for cocktails—espresso martinis, gin sours, even a whiskey lemonade—and it adds that velvety, foamy finish you usually only get from a pro bartender. The build quality is solid and feels premium, and the packaging was sleek and well thought out. Once you're done, give it a quick rinse or throw it in the dishwasher. Super easy to clean If you’re into great coffee or cocktails (or both), and you care about quality, the NitroPress is 100% worth it.

Very expensive and not worth in. The nitrogen foam is nice, but it doesn’t really last very long. The machine and canister are high quality and it works fine, it’s just super overrated as far as improving drinks. It’s also a pain to clean every time since it has several parts to remove. I regret buying this.

Have several products from this company and this nitro press is perfect in design and quality production. The ease of use is great and takes up little counter space. I can’t imagine drinking coffee any other way. 1 wish… that the liquid container volume be closer to 3/4 liter so our visitors could all enjoy nitro cold brew simultaneously, otherwise this product is superb

UPDATED REVIEW: After my initial review and issues with the first unit, the company reached out and sent a replacement, and the new machine has been working beautifully. The difference has been night and day, everything dispenses properly with strong pressure and consistent results every time. The drinks have been wonderful. Coffee comes out incredibly smooth and low-acid, so much so that I’m probably drinking more coffee now than I should... The cocktails have been just as impressive. Nitro really elevates the flavors and makes experimenting at home fun, and it beats spending $15+ per drink at a bar. Between the great performance of the replacement unit and the excellent customer support, I’m now very happy with this purchase and would absolutely recommend it if you’re looking to step up your coffee or cocktail game at home.

Some raters reported that the nozzle assembly was missing, but it is inside the carafe, and one piece is inside the other. We are home-brewers, and we were interested in trying to infuse a stout we bottled with nitrogen. It worked beautifully! We also tried it with coffee, and it worked just as well. The instructions say that you need to shake the liquid to infuse the nitrogen, and that is absolutely necessary, but violent shaking is not necessary. It is a bit pricey, but we are very happy with the quality of the product.

Honestly, the NitroPress makes too much foam. If you are making a Nitro Cold Brew with it, the whole glass is full of foam (I used one cartridge only). Maybe I use another iSi container (1l) and use only one cartridge and it works better? But as is, it takes too long to settle down, and then is not really as advertised.

Do you enjoy coffee ? Let me answer that for you, nope you don’t even know what you’ve missed. Unless you just like black with nothing else in it, this is for you. Take your favourite coffee, infuse the N2 Nitrogen (not the cheesy cream whipper N2O fluff) and try your coffee. No Milk, No Calories, and Frothy Smooth texture. I bought this because I was buying cans of Nitro Cold Brews (I still love you Crude & Sandows). Then I saw this and tried it out. I can now make coffee Nitro at home. Look how nicely it fits in my fridge. The packaging is beautiful and so nice you would think someone sent you a gift.

I have bought the NitroPress after doing my research and coming to the conclusion that this product was, yes, more expensive, but the best option when it came to easily making nitro cold brew at home. The NitroPress feels like a premium product. Sturdy, made out of premium material, easy to clean and, most importantly, if you use N2 cartridges then you'll get very nice nitro cold brew. With that said, I was a bit disappointed upon receiving the product because the packaging did not match what was shown on the product page. Instead of the rectangular box we see I received a cylindrical shaped box (seems like its their new packaging maybe) with the NitroPress and its parts inside. Everything was loose and flopping around. The different parts were not secured to anything. Considering everything on it is metal, this is less than ideal because those pieces were hitting the press, scratching it in the process. I even wondered if the product I received was a used or refurbished NitroPress so much so the packaging was lacking. This is also less than ideal if you're buying this as a gift for someone because you ideally want to give them something that is presented in a nice way instead of a bunch of loose parts thrown into a cylindrical box. Bottom line, good product, but the packaging shown on the product page is very different from what I actually received so 4 stars.

Nachdem ich zum ersten Mal Nitro-Kaffee getrunken hatte, war ich auf der Suche nach einer Möglichkeit diesen zu Hause zubereiten zu können ohne gleich eine Zapfanlage installieren zu müssen. Ich bin schließlich auf die Nitro-Press gestoßen. Ein wirklich hochwertig gearbeitetes, schön designtes Produkt, perfekt geeignet Nitro-Kaffee zuzubereiten. Die Zubereitung ist super einfach: Kaffee einfüllen, Patrone einlegen, zuschrauben. Angeblich kann man damit ja auch (mit den entsprechenden Patronen) Sahne oder Soda-Drinks zubereiten, was ich aber noch nicht ausprobiert habe.
