Review: Excellent - Great product... good value, speedy delivery Review: Very easy to use but expensive. - I'm using this to paint a standard size metal garage door which I stripped down to bare metal. Applied this paint straight onto the metal as recommended but soon became aware that one coat would not be enough. The paint is actually a joy to use and no runs appeared although I was using a smallish brush - dries quickly but leaves you just enough time to work it - I did apply in direct sunlight in about 20 degrees which may have been a little too warm. Had to order another 750ml to do the 2nd coat so total cost for just one garage door is around £56. For water based paint this is far too expensive and I can't help thinking that you're paying for the name. Have no idea yet as to it's durability - so fingers crossed. ## Features - Hammerite Ultima Smooth Metal Paint - 750ml - Light Grey - Product type: PAINT - Brand: Hammerite ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B08CL3X1VJ | | Best Sellers Rank | #126,282 in Office Products ( See Top 100 in Office Products ) #3,625 in Art Paints | | Brand | Hammerite | | Brand Name | Hammerite | | Color | Light Grey | | Color Code | LIGHT GREY | | Colour | Light Grey | | Container Type | Can | | Coverage | 7.5m2 per liter, 5m2 per tin | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 220 Reviews | | Dry Time In Hours | 2 | | Finish Type | Metal,Painted | | Finish type | Metal,Painted | | Full Cure Time | 4 Hours | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Outdoor | | Is Waterproof | True | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Volume | 0.75 Liters | | Item Weight | 0.9 Kilograms | | Item volume | 0.75 Liters | | Manufacturer | Hammerite | | Model Name | Hammerite Ultima Metal Paint Smooth Finish Light Grey 750ml – Advanced Protection, Direct to Rust, Water-Based, Durable Exterior Coating | | Model Number | SMU-.750-LGY | | Paint Type | Water Based | | Part Number | SMU-.750-LGY | | Size | 750 ml (Pack of 1) | | Special Features | Odor Blocking | | Special features | Odor Blocking | | Specific Uses For Product | Exterior (possible, but not explicitly stated) | | Surface Recommendation | Metal | | Unit Count | 750 Milliliters | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Hammerite - **Colour:** Light Grey - **Finish type:** Metal,Painted - **Item volume:** 0.75 Liters - **Size:** 750 ml (Pack of 1) ## Images ![Hammerite Ultima Smooth Metal Paint - 750ml - Light Grey - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71h0+zvyyJL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent *by R***J on 18 September 2026* Great product... good value, speedy delivery ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very easy to use but expensive. *by E***. on 29 May 2023* I'm using this to paint a standard size metal garage door which I stripped down to bare metal.
