This little thing is incredible! It’s small but mighty and can beautifully spiralize a yellow squash or what-have-you like nobody’s business, just takes a little effort and viola - a beautiful homemade squash spaghetti! It’s everything I could have dreamed of in one little zoodle package.:)

I actually prefer those handheld slicer to the larger spiral cutter with the turn handle. This spiral slicer is much safer to use as you do you don't have so much exposed blade nor is your hand coming into close contact with the blade area. There's a topper/holder with little spikes at one end to press into your vegetable that helps to grip it as you turn closer to the blade which allows you to be able to slice and use more of your produce without worrying about cutting yourself. I have used this vegetable slicer to make thin potato spirals, sweet potato spirals, carrot spirals, zucchini spirals, and cucumber spirals. The sweet potato didn't really spiral as well as I would have liked but the other vegetables did very well. The zucchini spirals in particular came out wonderfully. This also comes with a handy little cleaning brush which makes getting your vegetable particles out of the blades easy and safe, and you don't have to worry about cutting up your wash cloth or sponge. I definitely recommend this spiral slicer as it is easy to use, safe to use, and extremely compact.

I orignally gave this 5* but dropping the review to a 4*.Update: Since I was impressed with using the zucchini I tried with the sweet potato and that didnt work well. I could barely get spirals. Maybe a sweet potato is too hard for the zoodle slicer. Also I wished it used more of the end of the zucchini. Since I find it annoying to use it manually I will also buy the one at $30 from another maker so I can get different blades and also make it more practical for when I'm cooking for more than 1 meal.Will still keep thisOriginal review: ordered this product as I thought of trying a new diet. Well I gave up the idea of dieting but am focusing instead on replacing my carbs by better and healthier alternatives.This product arrived fast and its very self explanatory to use. I bought 1 zucchini and decided to make zoodles. The product comes with a small pamphlet of recipes which is what I needed as I had no idea how long to cook the zoodles until I saw the 5minutes mentioned in one of the recipes on the pamphlet. Ok... I might not be the most organized but all i wanted was to try it as fast as I could.Only drawback is that you lose the end of the zucchini as you wont be able to spiral it. But thats a detail as i just chopped it off in pieces and add it in my meat sauce.My biggest surprise is that I actually loved my meal. Besides the texture being a little more spongy I would say it taste as good if not bettet than pasta.I think this product is perfect for 1 or 2 meals at a time. But if I'm trying to make zoodles for 3 people or more... I need something a little more elaborate... maybe electric to save time.Sometimes healthier alternatives means lack of taste but in this case zoodles are tastier than pasta. For me... I do not intend to buy pasta and will use this on a regular for myself and maybe 1 other person.I ate the entire zucchini in one meal... not sure if my portions are right but at least its not carbs! My "pasta" was so tasty... peep the picture!I can't wait to try it with other veggies and google recipes online and get inspired by the pamphlet given.This might make it to the list of items for gift exchange next Christmas... I know I'm early but its very practical, useful, easy to clean and a great add to the kitchen. Did I add it also comes with a peeler?

Ok here's n honest common sense review. This slicer is compact, that means a huge 3" across zucchini will not work unless you slice it to fit. Looking at the mouth of the slicer tells you a medium zucchini will safice. Kind of like a square peg in a round hole affect. Probably why most of the complaints about the slicer not working and hard to twist the zucchini in the slicer. I shake my head reading some of the other reviews, also have to twist the zucchini clockwise to make noodles. Counter clockwise will result in frustration and a negative review. No I'm not a grad from M,I.T. or stay at n Holiday Inn Express last night. You don't need the strength of a steroid gym rat to rotate your zucchini to make noodles . Petrified or the fake fruit n vegetables on grandma's kitchen table will not work with this slicer. Yes this slicer is very sharp why the little bottle washer comes with the slicer. This noodle maker is very compact n easy to use and well worth the money.

Compared to the Vegetti...I liked that the Zoodle Slicer came with a cleaning brush and was so inexpensive as a lightning deal. It also comes with a peeler, but it is so cheaply made I don't expect it to last long.This feels better in my hand than the Vegetti, it feels more sturdy. I have a larger hand and the Vegetti is more ergonomically designed - a pro for most people but it always feels like it's going to slip for me.Both the Zoodle Slicer and the Vegetti come with a spiked piece that allows you to feed the vegetable until the end without exposing your hand to the blades. The Vegetti wins this one too with a slightly rubberized non-slip grip and the piece stores neatly in the end of the Vegetti. With the Zoodle Slicer there is no grip and the feeder piece nests but won't stay put...so you'll be sifting through your kitchen drawer to find it.Pros: lightning deal price, easier grip for larger hands, comes with cleaning brush, two different types of slices (Vegetti has two sizes but they are the same type)
