This is a review for the CrossCultiva Upholstery Repair Sewing Kit Upgraded Heavy Duty Sewing Kit with Awl, Seam Ripper, Leather Sewing Needles and Upholstery Thread for Shoes Sofa Tent Carpet Leather Repair and Crafts. To start, I really appreciate the storage case. This comes in handy because the tools to work with leather are different than my typical sewing tools and this will set it apart and make it easy to grab when needed. I will be labeling it as my “Leather & Upholstery” sewing kit with a silver metallic marker. The kit comes with so many things, and I love the variety of threads and needles, and that it provides the leather thimbles to help to pull the waxed thread through the leather. With the seam ripper and snips, I’m good to go! I have an old, but loved, pair of sandals just waiting for me to thread a needle and then they’ll be back in business shortly!

My Mother and Father did a small upholstery business in their 50s. They would search the area they lived in for fixable furnishings and restored the furnishings. Imagine my excitement seeing an upholstery kit. The rose ottoman, which was done by my parents 30 years ago, needs some repairs in the material. Remembering how my Father and Mother upholstered and the helpful chart with needles attached, I used the upholstery needle to mend a hole in the ottoman. Needle sharp and does not bend. The thread is thick and rigid, so it is up for darning and cross-stitching. It has to integrate into a rose-themed design. Scissors specifically designed for upholstery stitching in the kit. Different types of needles and various types of thread are categorized by type as well as color.  Pictures show the process and most likely a B-level upholstery repairer. At close-up could be better, but further away, looks normal.

Comes with more materials and tools than I'll ever need, but nice to have on-hand. I use this not for upholstery but for hand-sewn leather. It worked great for what I needed it for (sewing a wallet I made on my Cricut). The carrying case is a nice bonus, to keep everything bundled together. For the price and the amount of stuff you get, highly recommended.

I am not a pro-level person when it comes to stitching but I do little things here and there like altering my own dress or stitching a button or add that some beautiful rhinestone to my top and I must say this box provides for everything which I need for doing above said activities.I must say, previously for all my activities before having this box , I use to use black thread irrespective of the dress color but now I do have so many color choices in threads in this box to decide as per the color of my dress.Secondly the needles are really of good quality and sturdy. Other things in the box are not still put to use as I am discovering/exploring stitching projects. But this box is really all that a household needs for all types of diy and last minute fixes.Also, the black box in which it comes has a nice smooth zipper and totally gives that luxe touch to it. And as the box is of good quality, all the things inside this box are well kept.All in all, a must have utility box for every household.

This is a very inclusive set of upholstery sewing supplies, but it has many more uses besides upholstery, from leather work, to shoe and slipper repair to general crafts and more.There’s a great selection of threads, from colourful medium weight, variegated colours and then 6 spools of heavy weight, waxed thread.There are leather finger guards/thimbles, scissors, a tape measure and a small vile of straight embroidery type needles and then a card with an array for curved upholstery needles and there’s a leather punch sewing tool as well.Everything is kept neat in tidy in a well made, zippered storage case.

This little kit has all the essentials: thread in two different gauges and a variety of colors (including some that are variegated), needles, tools, and an EVA case. Most of it is very high quality. The only thing that's a slight disappointment is the case. It's durable enough, but the interior looks pretty generic and there's nothing to keep the spools of thread in place, so you'd have a lot of stuff floating around loose in it, which I'm not wild about. If you can overlook that -- I can, given the rest of it -- it's a good set.
