These aren't easy to find! Used this dispenser for years before I got a washer with an automatic dispenser. But that dispenser is nearly impossible to clean, so I'm glad I was able to find my old faithful solution... It works great, is basically self cleaning, and since my last one gave me close to 8 years before I set it aside for the built in dispenser, I have great hopes that this one will be just as durable.

My first time needing this. As my new Apt had stackable washing machine/dryer. No fabric softner dispenser. I was mortified (Yes, I'm a drama queen). But, a friend told me about about this ball. It's easy to use! And it actually works.

I've actually used this for many years. Although our washer is a great workhorse and still going strong, the softener dispenser became leaky and stopped working a long time ago. So I had bought one of these and have used it for ages. In the last X number of loads it stopped deploying the softener at the correct time in the cycle (didn't open at all) so I'd have some loads of laundry that didn't get softener. I figured the one I had was probably old so I decided to replace it with a new one from here. That seems to have resolved the problem and the new one works great. I'd say these have a shelf life of about 5 years or so, from my experience. If the dispenser on your washer doesn't work right, this is a great alternative.

Doesn't empty out all the way. Will go back to just dumping it in the washing machine

I love this. I live in apt building on 2nd floor, and I hated going up and down stairs to put softener on clothes. Now, no more. This came in handy and it works just fine. A little bit expensive, but OK. Slight residue left, but it doesn't stain clothes after washer stops

So I have a new washing machine & it seems the more upgraded & newer they are the less you can do with them like interrupt cycles particularly rinse which is ridiculous because it's when you pull out drip dry or add softener. I was sceptical initially but took a chance based on reviews & IT WORKS Just tested in a cycle of sheets stopping st each cycle to check it didn't dispense early or not at all. Well it worked!! It dispensed during rinse cycle. This is a life saver & a must have in any laundry. Get one you won't be disappointed. Superfast delivery & arrived in perfect condition with tag & instructions. I searched for some time at my local retail stores for the downy ball but was unable to find it so I decided to go with this on Amazon. The product seems good so far and does what it supposed to do. You fill the ball with softener and place it in the washer and it opens up in the wash cycle to dispense the softener. I do like the convenience of the product but I do find once and awhile the ball doesn’t fully dispense all the softener during the wash. So far though it’s been a good purchase. Hopefully it lasts for a long time. Quality seems fine and the price isn’t that bad.
