Great Backpack
I used it on a three month trip traveling in Europe and was very pleased with the backpack. It still looks new and is very comfortable.

So far, what's not to like?
I bought this to replace an Osprey Daylight that I had carried for years and which I really liked, but which finally was getting threadbare at the corners. I almost bought another Daylight, which seems improved over my older version, and which costs less than the Timbuk2. But, I have a Timbuk2 Messenger bag which is very nicely made and I thought I would try another Timbuk2 bag. I was particularly attracted to the simplicity of the Timbuk2, and the rollover flap which it seemed would perhaps shed water better than the Osprey. The new bag has been delightful to carry. The placement of the shoulder straps keeps it nicely close to one's back without a waist or chest strap. The side pockets, although not mesh or expansive as on some other bags, including my old Osprey, hold a goodly amount and are quite deep. There are three main compartments, the one under the flat, a zippered one in the front that is convenient for carrying things like a notebook or 8" tablet, and there is a zippered back pocket, which nicely holds a 15.6" laptop, without disturbing the main part of the bag. There is a small, nearly hidden zippered compartment handy for cards or a smart phone. It weights slightly more than my old Osprey, but it's comfortable enough I don't notice it, and all the seams seem they should outlast me.And, a side benefit of the simple rucksac design is that if one does want to overpack it, tall items can stick out without putting any strain on the zippers that aren't there.

This product is perfect for me
I have always had the traditional backpack for my daily commuting from a Chicago suburb into the city of Chicago. Some days I have a lot of stuff; lunch, shoes, etc. Some days I don't have as much. The stuffed backpack is bulky and uncomfortable, and I have to worry about it possibly bumping one of my commuter neighbors. Also, I'm not a fan of zippers anymore. This product is perfect for me. Not too many zippers! I have the navy, and it has two accent colors; a bright red zipper pocket and a neon yellow zipper pocket. I love the tuck closure on top. There is no Velcro anywhere, so if you're a messenger, this might not be as secure for you. I'm very happy the length from top to bottom when it's on my back. I'm 5'8, so it's not too short and not too long. I would not want to be without an umbrella in the windy city, so I have one of those backpack rain protectors. Another great amazon product!

If you're thinking about it...get it
I've been eyeing this backpack for a year now. It went on sale at the website, but I still held back because I read mixed reviews. I'm 5' 4" and 120 lbs with a small frame and so I am always looking to balance my frame with the size of the backpack and also how much it holds. This backpack does the job. The straps are comfortable, it carries everything I need and want without it being too stuffed. The backpack itself is very light, so that helps. It's true, it's not as durable feeling compared to the messenger bags (I have 2), but the backpack is lighter, which is a plus. Also, my shoulder needs a break once in awhile. It doesn't have many internal bags, but really you don't need a ton. Fits my narrow Hydroflask in the waterbottle pocket. I'm very pleased with the backpack.

I really like this backpack
I really like this backpack, but it definitely didn't hit all of my expectations. The side water-bottle pocket(s) (one is for a bike lock?) are terrible with actually fitting a re-usable metal water bottle. the pockets don't stretch out to fit the bottle, they instead stretch into the backpack which can be impossible when it is full of stuff... Still four stars because I like the look, unfortunately there is a loss in functionality..

Buy an Acme Made!
This bag is WAY overpriced!Yes it's nice, is waterproof, and comfortable, but for this price there are many other bags that can do the same thing for so much less. The Acme Made is WAY more durable, has so much more features, is waterproof and it's made from better quality material, and just as comfortable.Basically I brought the Timbuck 2 because I thought it looked cool... Which it does. But when I got it I was like: this is it?It reminds me of a glorified Jansport bag.But I kept it because I wanted something I can ware with nice clothes and to give my Acme a break. But will I buy again? If it's was $50 yes but not for a dime more!

Best roll top cycling pack for the price point.
I love this bag, for the price it's everything I need. There's only a few design flaws that bother me. The adjustable straps are very long and there's no real manageable way to wrap them up neatly so they hang flapping around. This bag is not water proof so after riding in the rain the outside will be damp but it has managed to keep all of my belongings inside nice and dry! The roll top is great and accommodates for a lot of extra room but I will say I am not a fan of the blind spot it creates over my shoulder. The bag is wider at the top of the roll top and because the material is rather sturdy the top juts out into my field of vision. I'm rather short (5'2") so maybe that is why, but while I'm cycling it has created visibility concerns.

Great backpack!!
The backpack itself is beautiful and very practical. I was looking for one that could fit all and this is it. One great thing about it is that fits what I want to carry: If I don't pack much it can adapt easily with the strap on the front, so it doesn't look baggy; if I want to stuff it with all my things, even my helmet (I ride a bike) is adaptable. If I had to say something bad about it it would be that the back pocket (red zipper) is too exposed and although it is very easy to keep stuff that I have to keep in hand like my ID, wallet or phone, it can also be easy for someone to open it.
