Vikram Seth is a genius. I wish he wrote more books in verse.The Golden Gate is one of my favorite books and I have read it many times.The Hanuman Chalisa, has been beautifully translated in Seth's inimitable wordsI loved it. I just wish it was longer. Much longer.

The media could not be loaded. The book is a unique piece of work, something which will push ideals of Hinduism deeper into English speaking countries. The English translation maintains the rhytm of Hanuman chalisa, when read in English, the rhyming pattern in writing makes this possible.

No one else but Vikram Seth could translate the Hanuman Chalisa with so much precision. He has a flair for poetry that is phenomenal. By no means easy the poet has so meticulously kept intact the essence of the original.
