Great value Good quality Very fast and good performance Easy to install

I picked up the WD_BLACK SN7100 1TB NVMe SSD to use as a boot drive, and it’s been excellent so far. Installation was straightforward, and since then it has run flawlessly no issues at all. The speed is outstanding: with read speeds up to 7,250 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,900 MB/s, everything from startup to loading applications feels instant. It’s a huge upgrade compared to older drives I’ve used. The Next Gen TLC 3D NAND and WD_BLACK Dashboard support give extra confidence in both performance and reliability. I’ve tested it across everyday tasks and gaming, and it’s consistently fast and responsive. For laptops or handheld gaming devices, this SSD is a perfect fit if you want top-tier performance in a compact form factor. Overall, I’m very happy with it super fast, reliable, and ideal as a boot drive.

Excellent. I wanted a 2nd NVME HDD in my PC and originally ordered a Kingston KC3000 but when it arrived it was DOA... Would not work at all even where other SSd's did. Consequently I sent it back and ordered the WD Black SN7100. Put it in and it works fantastically!!!

Got at a great price, and does idle in low power state with low temps as well unlike many other WD NVME drives. However at current prices 22 jan 2026, my rating doesnt apply.

Bought this for my 6 year old Dell Inspirion Laptop which had a 128 Gb NVMe and a 1 TB HHD. The NVMe which holds the operating system was completely full. I used Crystal Disk Mark to check the data transfer rate before I changed anything and it was 1306 Read and 92.93 Write on the highest ratings. Note old laptop so can't fully utilise modern NDVe speeds). I fitted the new drive and the results are now 3359 Read and 3204 Write. Fantastic and the difference in Booting etc is amazing. I know that the readings are nowhere near the maximum speeds this drive can handle, but that's due to the aging laptop. I a more modern one I'm sure it would reach the advertised speeds. I'm very pleased as it's given the laptop a new lease of life.

Pro: Cheaper and generates less heat compare to the one with SDRAM. Con: Slower speed. especially when you transfer file larger than 3GB. it slows down dramatically. Overall, Happy with low heat as I use it in an enclosure rather than using as a main drive, so I can accept the slower speed compare to my Samsung 980 Pro.

I've never had any issue with WD products and this one is no exception. Functioning at low temperature levels this particular product is running my OS so in for a lot of use. The price of this product does fluctuate but it's never far from being on offer so don't get it at full price, think black Friday purchase list. High speed transfers are noticeable and as yet it has served me well like other WD product.

Great value for money for mainstream brand.
