Nilight Cargo Mats for Tesla Model Y 5 Seat

This protective mat fits just right into the back of my 2024 Model Y. It is made from fairly heavy vinyl and has a fold line right where it needs to bend so I can lift the rear storage compartment easily. It is molded so it fits around the back trunk locking catch properly. I am glad to have this mat to protect the carpeted bottom of the rear cargo space. I plan to carry a lot in there and this will keep my Tesla cleaner and keep the carpet from being stained. This mat is heavy, attractive, and I believe it will last a long time if I care for it properly. I feel it’s reasonably priced.

Impressed, but not overly impressed.... Functionally, this is great and does what it advertises. It lays flat after a day in the sun to flatten some packaging folds, and allows easy access to "under trunk" area as well. On the downside... -The material is a little flimsy, but not terrible. Would have preferred a little more rigidity, though I have no concerns about durability. I assume the more rigid you get the harder it would be to access the under trunk area. -The fitment is just "good". When positioned properly, there is a bit of a gap between the rear seat on the liner. -This claims to have "fully enclosed" protection, however, given the big crease in the middle to allow it to fold in half, this is not entirely true. I imagine if loaded with something really wet, it would start to leak out the sides of the crease where it folds. It would be better if both halves had ridges along the crease, to keep water in either half. All in all, this will do what I need, which is protect the rear area carpet from dirt, debris, and moisture while still allowing easy access to the under trunk area. Pleased, but could be better.

This mat fits like it came with the car. It's perfect. It will arrive folded up in a box. I suggest laying it out on your driveway on a sunny day for an hour or so to let the heat relax it back to it's flat state. Other than that, it drops right into place and it is a perfect fit. It seems very durable and should be very easy to clean. It's definitely worth the $60 price tag to protect the interior of your car.

I've attached the before (installation) pic for comparison with post installation state. I think the product team didnt capture the dimensions right. At least not for my 2024 MYLR. You can clearly see room on almost all sides which should rather have been allowed to be tucked in. Another issue is I think the mat came folded in the wrong way. Well the trunk surface does fold in 2 pieces. But the fold on the mat was that it carried from one piece into the other instead of being where they separate. You can see in the pic the depression misalignment because of this. Even it was folded across, it would align with the direction of the truck folding. Overall okay but pleasing.

Overall, Im happy with this. It lays flat after a little while out of the box. Material is solid. It is not overly thick to make it hard to access the under trunk, but it is not too thin to be flimsy. It is the right thickness. Seems to be very durable. No concerns on that front. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that (a) there is a bit of a gap between the front of the trunk and the mat (it doesnt come all the way out) and (b) the crease in the middle does take away the fully enclosed protection aspect as if something leaks into that crease, it will run over into the felt on the sides. One other thing to note, this is only one cargo mat. It is not multiple. It is only for the rear trunk.

This fits perfectly on our Tesla Model Y 2020 car. It’s high quality, has zero bad smells, and protects your car a bunch! It rinses and wipes off easily and fits like a glove.

Fits the trunk really well and feels like it's made from a high quality material. My large dog has climbed up on it and did no damage at all.
