Minerals Poster 24x36 Pretty Rocks!

I had to buy this poster twice. The first time it got mangled pretty badly by the laminating machine. I hung it up anyway while I was waiting on the second to arrive. My students noticed it immediately and anytime any of them is near it they can't help but look at it and look at the names and try to decide which one is their absolute favorite. I made a list of some of the mineral's chemical formulas because my students were struggling with the concept of what a compound was. I saw a lot of lightbulbs going off when they realized that each of these minerals looks different because they are made up of different atoms in various configurations. Great teaching tool because it is SO beautiful.

My daughter (9 years old) has been obsessed with rocks and minerals for a while. She loves this poster. The specimins are beautifully photographed - we like looking at them and seeing what else they look like. (That one looks like broccoli! That one looks like a mushroom!) The poster is high quality and glossy. I like how a lot of the minerals are more obscure - this goes way beyond your common quartz, gemstones, etc.

This poster was bright, clear and easy to refer to. I would love it more if it was laminated, however, I can get it done. A very nice poster that shows a large variety. Haven't found one anywhere else even a bit as nice.

I bought this for my two-year-old's room. (She loves looking at rocks.) This is a large, colorful poster, which I hope she'll enjoy for years to come.

I saw this poster originally at a science museum in Minnesota during a visit there and went to purchase it for my classroom but was greatly disappointed to know they were out of it and wouldn't have more until a later date. Apparently, this poster is very popular! So, during my late-night search on Amazon, I FOUND IT! The price was similar to what it was in the science gift shop (minus the tax) and is the coolest collection of pictures of minerals I have ever found! WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE! My students will spend tons of time just looking at it and analyzing the pictures and detail of all the colorful minerals. It truly is the best collection I have seen yet! My 7th graders love it!
