Great product
I use these for measuring tumblers in my laser engraving business. Inexpensive and works great.

Works excellent for light use (matches the price)
This is mostly all plastic, so it’s probably best to get something more heavy-duty if you’re going to be a heavy user. I’m only using it for some occasional 3D print modeling, so between that, the case it comes with, and careful handling I suspect this will last a long time for my use case. It doesn’t feel flimsy or like it will break easily. Has all the features I want and need. Highly accurate and responsive measurements so far. I’ve noticed you can squeeze it with a little pressure when you’re measuring and it might shave off a 10th of a millimeter or so, I suspect that’s the plastic bending a tad, and perhaps that wouldn’t happen with a high end model. For the price, this thing is great.

Cheap but good enough for most jobs
It only goes to 1 decimal point for the metric setting but that's all I need for most 3D printing designs and woodworking. If you need more accuracy than that, you'll need to spend more than $8! There is no roller but it slides with a good balance of friction. The plastic that it is made of (the entire thing) seems fairly hard. As long as you are using the calipers correctly you shouldn't have to worry about the plastic getting damaged and affecting your measurements. The only thing I miss the locking nut to keep the calipers in place. Overall, I would definitely recommend to someone on a budget or who wants a cheap second set.
