What age does the large fit?

10-12. My son is very thin but tall and this works great. The medium was too short and a little tight.

Can you share the sizing guide. A 9 yr old would be medium or large?

I would go with the large. I got my smaller 6 year old a small and while it fit it was pulling at the crotch and looked funny.

What does the back of this costume look like? Are the wings separate or attached?

The body is a one piece suit with Velcro closures on the back. The wings are not attached. They have elastic loops to wear over your shoulders like a backpack. The tail is attached with Velcro so it can be removed.

What size would be best for a 4 year old who is just under 40 pounds?

It depends really on their height. I originally got my 6 year who’s 40lbs a small. While it fit it was pulling at the crotch.
