LC90 is better than I expected.
First of all, read the short manual to explore more of what is hidden beyond the screen. So charge the battery fully, insert a 32GB TF (not more than 32) into the proper port and update the firmware. I myself didnât listen to any station until it was updated.Indeed, this receiver is rather a web dedicated portable device most of the time according to your wish that could let your mobile phone or other devices previously connected to radio stations via the web to do much more than just tuning in favorite radios. There are some features like Tag, Lang, News, Podcast, BT, TF and Music dedicated buttons on the Choyong LC90 that work well in order to let you do more than in a simple digital radio app while you explore other horizons on the web. The Favorite button is a kind of easy shortcut to your favorite ones on all frequency bands or via the web. On BT you can also listen to the same favorite songs usually listened to in your cars, for instance. Iâve already listened to amazing national (Brazilian) and international auditions on this smart receiver.Nowadays I can listen to my favorite stations around the world with a good smart radio receiver and free my mobile phone to do other important things. There are stations that I like from Germany, England, France, Spain, United States, Latin America Countries and others that I couldnât imagine that existed, all in good quality sound like listening to local FM stations. Really, it's been an amazing experience.Good reception has this receiver. Iâve already listened to a famous SW Amazon station called "RĂĄdio Nacional da AmazĂ´nia" (11780 kHz), that is some 10800 km away from where I live in Brazil as well as to other so far unknown stations too. This first DX tune was possible with a simple external Tecsun wire antenna. Imagine with a powerful one. Ah, I could also listen to the Amazon station with the simple telescopic antenna, then of course, this time the sound was weaker than with the external antenna, naturally. Now, as a critical review, itâs a pit that it doesnât show RDS on FM, MW and SW bands as you listen to them by frequency, not via the web. Otherwise, on these bands the screen doesnât show either the battery level indicator. On the other hand, on Internet there is Information about the stations, but I miss information about the programs. One thing that teases me is that the sound of a previous station goes off as you search for another one, so your radio seems to be off during any search. The previous station should stay tuned until the next one is in. This happens whenever exploring Search field.I hope that these and other missing features could come up in the next updates. Exactly, update is a good feature of this smart radio, more than a simple receiver.Otherwise, you can expect more from this radio as the time goes by since Choyong is doing its best to get there. They have already shown good signs on this regard. Please read the simple manual before turning it on and be happy.

Excellent Radio - Choyong LC90 Portable Multi-Band Smart Radio
I recently purchased the Choyong LC90 Portable Multi-Band Smart Radio and, after using it extensively, I am thrilled to give it a well-deserved 5-star review. This radio is an exceptional piece of technology, especially after the latest firmware upgrade.**Shortwave Reception**One of the standout features of the Choyong LC90 is its impressive shortwave reception. After the firmware upgrade, the radio's ability to pick up shortwave signals has significantly improved. Whether Iâm tuning into local broadcasts or distant stations, the reception is clear and reliable. This is a crucial feature for anyone who enjoys shortwave radio, and Choyong has truly delivered on this front.**User Interface**The user interface of the LC90 is another aspect that deserves high praise. It is incredibly user-friendly and easy to navigate. From the moment I turned it on, I found the menu system intuitive and straightforward. Even if youâre not particularly tech-savvy, you will find it easy to operate this radio. The buttons are well-placed and clearly labeled, making it simple to switch between bands, adjust settings, and find your favorite stations.**Internet Radio Reception**Internet radio reception is where the Choyong LC90 truly shines. The radio connects to Wi-Fi seamlessly and offers access to a vast array of internet radio stations from around the world. The reception is consistently excellent, providing clear and uninterrupted audio. This feature opens up a whole new world of listening possibilities, making it a fantastic choice for those who enjoy exploring different genres and broadcasts from various countries.**Overall Experience**In addition to its technical capabilities, the Choyong LC90 is also portable and well-built. Itâs lightweight, making it easy to carry around, yet it feels sturdy and durable. The battery life is commendable, allowing for extended periods of use without the need for frequent recharging. In conclusion, the Choyong LC90 Portable Multi-Band Smart Radio is an outstanding device that offers excellent shortwave reception, an easy-to-use interface, and top-notch internet radio reception. Not quite there Choyong, but a good first attempt
Found this for 199 on Amazon days so had to give it a shot. Bought it to replace streaming on my smartphone that I stream a couple IHeart stations on usually, but wanted a good sounding separate unit to listen on. There are several issues I found wrong with this unit as follows: 1. You CANNOT connect to a hidden network. It will only connect to a network that broadcasts the SSID. I had to unhide my broadcast, then connect. Then I rehid the network name and the radio eventually lost connection. The only way I could keep the connection is keep the SSID unhidden. Choyong, you have to give an option to add a hidden network name before I will buy this again. 2. the unit did not contain my two most streamed internet stations, KFI LA and WHLO Akron. Somehow the unit did have WTAM Cleveland which is also an IHeartRadio stream, so why not have KFI and WHLO which are also IHeartRadio, Choyong? 3. The MW and SW performance is garbage with a lot of background noise. My strongest station, which is WHLO with a tower 5 miles from me had all kinds of noise in it. Every other radio i have picks it up clearly with no noise. SW was more of the same. Tried WWV at 15000 and so much background noise inherent to the radio i couldn't make it out. 4. Also the search function is ridiculous. You can only do it by voice for some reason and you have to long press that LANG button to talk into it. Well every time I did it all i got was a ânetwork errorâ so the only way to search was to scroll through almost 300 stations looking for KFI. Choyong, once you clean up these four things, I will look forward to trying the newer iteration of the radio with these things fixed. I will say the unit sounded pretty good on WTAM, so 1 star for the sound. Sending it back.
