Easy to install, looks great, handles amazingly! Perfect fit for 2004 4Runner!
I don't normally write reviews, but I had to for this product. The shock absorbers are perfect for me!My old ones (as can be seen in the pictures) were completely trashed and should have been changed a while ago. Luckily, I was able to watch many videos/tutorials on how to install them. The old ones had bolts that were so rusted I had to use a reciprocating saw on them to remove it (which did work successfully).Anyways, once I got the old ones off, I was able to install the new ones in 10-15 minutes (maybe 5-10 if I had a ratcheting wrench). Before I installed them, I primed them (i.e., I pushed down on them on the ground 5 times before I installed them). The "directions" sort of suck. But if you think about it, it's not really that big of a deal as they are somewhat of a common-sense install. But just in case, I included pictures showing you the contents of the package and the proper orientation of all the hardware.Just in case you're wondering, I installed these shock absorbers on both sides of the rear vehicle (always replace in pairs) on my 2004 Toyota 4runner Limited V6. They DO INDEED COME WITH ALL THE HARDWARE IN THE PICTURE DESPITE IT NOT SAYING IT ON THE WEBPAGE OR ANYWHERE ELSE. Everything you need (besides tools) is included in the packaging. Also, when you buy them, you buy them individually, but should always get two because, again, you replace them in pairs. These are not performance rear shock absorbers, they are built to OEM (I believe) specs and so they restore the ride quality to the original quality. If you want to upgrade, get different ones. But for me, these were exactly what I needed, fit perfectly, were very easy to install, and looks great. FYI, the top/bottom nut/bolt requires a 17 mm socket/wrench. My car said to torque the bottom bolt to 72 lb-ft and the top one to 22 lb-ft; however, I couldn't get my torque wrench to fit for the top one, so I kept on twisting until the nut was snug, "crushed" (as can be seen in the pictures) the top rubber hardware piece and became difficult to twist more. (Also, I replaced the rear coil springs and sway bar links too using MOOG parts.)Overall, if this fits your car, you want to restore your ride quality to "brand-new," you don't want to spend a fortune, and you want something that is easy to install, looks decent, and is made by a reputable brand...then this is your shock absorber. Hopefully, the pictures help too!But don't take my word for it, try it out yourself.

So far so good.
These shocks ride nice, they are very slightly more firm than the OEM Toyota 4Runner shocks made by Tokico, and seem to be good quality so far. Compared to Monroe equivalent shocks these are far better, and they ride alot better over bumps than the monroe road sensing shocks do. Im sure they are manufactured to higher standards than other OEM replacement shocks. The 2007 4runner with these shocks handles very car like, and rides over bumps very smooth, yet has a slightly more truck like ride (as it should with new front KYB strut plus assemblies, new rear springs, and these new KYB shocks). Time and miles will tell how the ride and handling hold up, but so far so good, and much better already than my last 4runner with monroe shocks and struts. If you are replacing your worn shocks and struts on a 4runner/FJ cruiser, or Tacoma that is approaching 75,000-100,000 miles or has more, replace the shocks, struts, and coil springs, otherwise your worn sagging weak springs will cause the vehicle to ride lower than it should in height, it will bottom out on bumps sometimes, and make you think the new shocks are too soft. Also the front end of the vehicle sags much more than the rear when the springs are worn.

What a Difference
I replaced the original shocks on my 2007 4Runner with these. Installation was not difficult, but quite time consuming due to very stubborn nuts and bolts. My 15 year old 175k mile 4Runner is back to it's old self, the ride is once again smooth and quiet, handling is tight and crisp. Great value.

Great product, great price
Great product, great price. Easy installation after battling removal of original equipment. I would have given it 5 stars, but the installation instructions were very confusing. After I contacted the company directly, an intelligent customer service rep emailed me a simple washer/bushing diagram. That diagram in the box prevents anxiety.

instructions
I am a back yard mechanic and before you order KYB shocks, they give very vague instructions, at best! I ordered because of their quality reputation but their instructions are mediorce, Very confusing and if you install incorrectly, that voids any warranty! The placement of the washer and bushings is the problem>

Perfect Fit
These fit perfectly on my 2008 FJ Cruiser. So far they have restored the ride quality back to OEM which is what I was looking for. The only complaint I would have is the instructions that came with the shocks are terrible when I was figuring out exactly how the washers and bushings went. But it wasn’t too hard to figure out.

Excellent replacement rear shocks
I replaced the rears easily on the back of my FJ Cruiser. They work very well with standard tire sizes and on road use. Seem indistinguishable from OEM, and that's a compliment.
