Works great!
Works great, one cut of the stovepipe and it was done, less than an hour. Sturdy and quiet operation. Good output.

You won’t regret buying this!
Works as advertised. Pushes heat well. No smoke leaks. Blower isn’t super strong but just enough to continuously push heat. Plug it in, build your fire, it will do the rest on its own. Looks a little goofy but for what it is, you can’t go wrong. Especially if you live where it gets cold.

Hard to tell
When I hooked it up the fan did not sound right at all. Wobbly is best way to describe it. Still blew heat but in addition it was leaking way too many fumes and I had to disconnect it. Was hooked up properly. i work on stoves extensively. I can't really test it out since fan is thermostat activated. Product may be fine because I have heard great things about it. However mine came in what appeared to be re taped packaging so it may have been used or damaged in transit.

Makes a small amount of tolerable noise after being installed for 2 weeks
I like the look overall of this unit compared as it looks more modern than another brand I've been using for approximately 12 years. After about 2 weeks of use, the US Stove MH6 started making a slight noise that isn't real loud or annoying, but I'll have to wait and see if this problem gets worse over time. I had hoped to purchase the identical product I've had for the 12 years mentioned, but it seems they have nearly tripled in price so I opted for the US Stove MH6 for the price alone. For the most part it seems like a well built unit that turns on when the stove temperature reaches a certain point, and then off when the stove cools down a little. It has been my goal to have a "stacked" heat reclaiming system for some time since we experience very cold winters with periods of well below 0 temperatures for days in a row. I installed the US Stove MH6 on top of my existing heat reclaimer and this aspect works great. Between the 2 units working in tandem, it doesn't take long to heat our 2,500+ square foot home. Even going as far as having to open a window or two to balance the temperature better. We never had to do that with just one unit. As far as being easy to install, installing anything to do with stove pipe is never easy, but the process was pretty straightforward for me and I had our wood stove up and running within an hour. Just make sure you orient all the stove pipe in the correct direction for easiest fit. Fluted edge of stove pipe down, which matches the orientation on the US Stove MH6. I would highly recommend the US Stove MH6 for now and hopefully it will have the same lifespan our other heat reclaiming unit has. If you burn wood, this is a must have for better efficiency. 4 stars for the noise factor after a short two weeks of use.

Repeat Customer, Game Changer!
So if you're like me, you've done research on this thing and you're probably going to get mostly negative feedback from woodburning enthusiests. Despite that, I decided I'd give it a try since I figured it would be an easy install and really not that expensive of a unit. I installed my first one about 8 years ago. The install took about an hour for my specific setup (see picture 1). Just cut the pipe and put it in. The difference was noticed on the first use. That thing really kicks out the heat and the only one more thrilled than me was my wife. I've had 2 now and they are super quiet. Not sure what may have been off on other reviews but under normal conditions the fan and motor are very quiet. Nothing more than your refrigerator compressor. Contrary to the instructions I put the damper BEFORE the exchanger because I'd rather have the buildup before the exchanger. My first unit ran for 8 years and I never removed it to clean it (I know... gasp!). I do clean the chimney annually and never got around to disassemling the setup. I also burn seasoned wood and rarily have any sort of creosote buildup at all except the top 12" of the chimney. A couple months ago, we lost power and in an attempt to keep the house warm, I overheated the exchanger and it messed up the bearings in the fan. Still worked great but was very loud during operation. So I bought a new one (definitely got my moneys worth for 8 years). When I removed the old unit (again after 8 years of not cleaning), it had minimal building up creosote (see pictures 2 & 3). I think the combination of burning seasoned wood keeping the exchanger close to the stove with the damper before, all factor into this. Don't get me wrong! I do recommend cleaning the exchanger and all pipes annually but wanted to share that this thing is not the "death trap" that the "experts" claim. If this is how it looks after 8 years of daily seasonal use, then I think it would take seconds to brush out each year. Second one was installed and is working just as the first did. Extremely happy with it and will never own a wood stove without one. If fact I'm going to install the old "loud motor" one in my rarely used garage wood stove. If you're hesitant to try... don't be. You will NOT regret it!

OK value
An ok value for the money. It sometimes makes a rattling noise but does not affect the function. So far lasted one season.

Best stove company
They sell great products. We have 3 of their reclaimers and our friends have purchased from them too. One reclaimer is 7 years old, heavily used and still going great. Customer service is amazing. The reclaimers work really well and boost heat output. If you have a woodstove, you need one of these reclaimers!! We can’t say enough good things about the products and more importantly, their customer service. Great products and great people!
