Very good warmth to weight ratio.
This mat offers a a 7.3 r value, at a 25’x78’ size and inly weighs 1.6 lbs. before the nemo exteme conditions mat came along, this was king. But its still the second best winter time airmat you can buy. The r value is still high enough that you can effectively boost the warmth of sleeping bags and quilts a little bit when youre at around 10-30 degrees. Not the most comfortable airmat because its 3 inches thick instead of 3.5, but remember its weight. It does make a slight “chip bag” sound but nothing major. Its not an airmat to use on bare ground, as its built so lightweight. Filling it up is easy with the updated pump sack and valve system. Deflation is more difficult due to the design of the inside baffles stopping air from moving around, which is one of the things that makes it so warm and comfy. Thats about all i can say about it. Thermarest has been selling this airmat a long time now, it has a good reputation behind it and i finally got myself one back in august during a sale. This is the updated version, using more honed in materials theyve managed to make it even lighter and warmer. And they did update the valve system, although i like exped’s valve and pumpsacks the best, if thats a big factor for you. Buy this airmat if you prioritize warmth and weight savings over a slightly comfier or heavier mat.

WOW
This sleeping pad is incredible!! 100% worth the high price if you enjoy tent camping. I’m going to get an actual good night’s sleep in the Alaskan backcountry on this thing! I inflated it easily using the pump sack (tip: you don’t even need to blow into the pump sack, just open it up wide and pull the cord and it inflates great), so you don’t need to add weight to your backpack with an added pump. On my hardwood floors the inflated pad is so comfortable I can even lay on my side which I’ve not been able to do with any other pad I’ve tried. It got quite warm during the 20 minutes I lay on it too so combined with my 20 degree sleeping bag I’ll be nice and toasty at night outdoors. Deflated easily and quickly. I went through the process twice to ensure maximum air removal. It folded and rolled up nicely and fit into the bag no problem with room to spare. I’m so so so excited to try it out once the trails are clear of snow in another few weeks! Thank you Therm-A-Rest for making another excellent product!

Complete garbage.
When I decided to purchase a new sleeping bad for camping, I did considerable research for good quality pads and ones that were rated as very good for side sleepers. Thermarest seemed to have excellent reviews and I decided on this pad. Tve price is a bit hard to swallow but I wanted something I could purchase once and not have to worry about again and to be confident I would get a decent nights sleep on. Well I have no idea what quality of sleep I would get on it because on its maiden voyage, I inflated it and dozed off to dreamland and within 2 hrs, tve pad had completely deflated and I was laying flat on the ground. I thought I had done something g wrong with the valve so reread the instructions, reinflated and within 2 hrs, I was on tve ground again. Over the past 6 weeks, I have submitted 3 online requests to the company requesting a warranty repair and I’ve gotten no response from them at all. Horrible product and non-existent customer service.

Sleeping pad heaven
Everything you’d want in a sleeping pad! Used for about a year now; 1) keeps you warm; 2)folds up easily and fits back into stuff sack; 3) quiet; 4) functions well, 5) durable; 6) even I sleep well tent camping now.

Comfortable & Warm, but gosh is it LOUD.
I've been a thermarest user for a very long time. The last time we went camping, my old pad just didn't cut it in the cold cold cold weather. It got down to about 10F and I decided it was time to find something to up my insulating R-value. This thing is great in every respect except noise. It packs down light and is easy to fill (I use a battery powered pump, but the included pump sack does the job). You can easily tune the firmness of the pad by letting out some air after you are laying on it. It's thick enough that my hips don't dig into the ground when sleeping on my side. However... whenever you move around, the sound of this is just not acceptable. It will absolutely disturb anyone within 10 feet of you. I am going to investigate some kind of jersey/silk liner to put over it to quieten it down. Otherwise, it absolutely keeps me warm. I can certainly feel the heat radiating back instead of the cold ground. If you are looking for the absolute best way to stay warm, this is it. It's probably too warm for summer camping. And it's certainly too loud for friends. Bring earplugs for them.

Excellent durability for the weight / insulation, and built in the USA.
Pro's: - Lightweight - Well Insulated - Durable (70d bottom / 40d top, with replaceable wing lock valve.) - Built In USA - Lifetime Warranty - Priced at the market average for the type of pad. Con's - No Color Options (In this price range we should have color options for pads.) - No included mini electric pump. (In this price range this would be reasonable to add.)

Best sleeping pad I have owned
This is a fantastic sleeping pad that is really comfortable and has a great high R value for keeping me warm when it’s really cold. I use it for elk hunting in high elevation anywhere from October to November and it performs great!

Maravilhoso. Já devia ter comprado este produto há mais tempo. Além de ser super leve, de ocupar pouquissimo espaço é surpreendentemente bom. Com um R de 7.2 não há frio ou humidade que passe do colchão para o saco cama.

After starting the AT in early March, this air mattress and my sleeping bag kept me warm and comfortable in temperatures below 0. Solid construction. The extra length and width provides great comfort for side or back sleepers. The valve allows you to adjust the firmness of the mattress. Even at At 6'5 and 240 to start the trail, I had no problems sleeping on my side and not touching the ground. As with most air mattresses, it can be a bit noisy if you move around a lot.

As a dedicated Thermarest enthusiast, I have been a loyal user of their products for years, particularly the older XTherm sleeping pad. However, I have noticed a decline in quality with the newer models. The upper and bottom layers now share the same color, and the previously distinct and appealing color has been replaced with a less attractive bluish hue. Additionally, the overall finish quality is not what it used to be. Consequently, I am now considering exploring other brands and options for my sleeping pad needs.
