Great for the price
Has every feature you could want in a light like this.I literally was looking for a 14500 powered right angle flashlight that doubles as a head lamp for years.I love lights powered by 14500 lithium ion batteries because they also give you the option to use standard alkaline AA. I haven't tested it yet but I suspect you could also use rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. Since the battery is removable and it also has a charging port, when your battery dies you can either just swap the battery or charge the light via the USB C port. So very versatile with battery and recharging options. Its also versatile with its mounting options. You can use it as a stand alone flashlight, use the removable clip, or use it as a headlamp. And it's easy to attach or remove it from the headband whereas other lights like this ive had its been awkward. It has a lot of modes and a decent UI to access them. I love having a moonlight option and i think red is great for preserving night vision. But I also think the UI won't be for everyone. What's nice about it is when the light is off you can basically access any mode right away. You dont have to cycle through every mode to get to the one you want. But what's not so good is i feel that if you dont use it very regularly you will forget how to get to the different modes. While off, one click turns it on to a white light. Or press and hold for moonlight. Or double click for turbo. Or triple click for red. Finally 4 clicks locks it which is always a nice feature to have. And while you're in just about any of these modes if you press and hold it will cycle through the various brightness settings of that mode. And if you turn it off, next time you access a particular mode it will remember what brightness setting you had it set to last and will default to that. And then it's always just one click to turn off.Except not quite. Some modes work a little differently. For example 3 clicks to red mode. Then press and hold for 3 different red brightness settings. But there is also a red flashing mode that you access with a double click while in red mode, not press and hold. And when you're in red flashing mode a click doesnt turn it off but instead goes back to steady red light. So if I put this flashlight down for a few months im never going to remember all this. But one thing that's nice is a single click of the button turns on normal white light, and a single click will turn it off again. So you can hand this light to anyone and they will be able to easily figure out how to use its most basic and most important function. But overall I think everything about it is good or great. A little busy with all the modes but they're all modes i want and none I dont want. And with only one button there's always going to be some UI to memorize. I just wish flashlight companies in general would standardize UI. I have a few lights and they all work differently.

Very impressive and practical flashlight/headlight
The Wurkkos HD12 Headlamp is a really impressive compact headlamp that also works well as a standalone light. So if you travel with this, no need to take a second light. It has a relatively simple interface that allows users to select three levels of regular output along with turbo and moonlight. The light also allows quick access to red led (steady at variable levels and blinking). It takes a little to get used to the interface but once you've used it a few times its very straightforward and intuitive (and fortunately doesn't have hard to used complicated programming modes). The light can be used standalone as a mini right angle light, or the light can be clipped into the head strap, for use as a headlamp. Because the unit is very small and light, it fits comfortably on the head. The box says it is 850 lumens. While I have no way to test that, in comparison to other lights I have, it does put out a lot of light. If it matters to you, the light has a cool tint... not far on the cool side, but definitely more cool than warm.No built in charging, but the light uses 14500 batteries, and in a pinch can run with a good nicad or alkaline (though brightness and longevity will suffer). Mine came with a 14500.Overall its a very impressive and practical flashlight/headlight.

Bright, Compact, and Versatile – A Fantastic Mini Headlamp!
I was pleasantly surprised by how incredibly bright this headlamp is for its small size! Despite being compact, the HD12 delivers an impressive 1,100 lumens on its highest setting, easily lighting up a wide area. Whether for camping, working in tight spaces, or emergency situations, this little powerhouse gets the job done. What I Love About It:✔ Super Bright Output – At 1,100 lumens, this headlamp is incredibly powerful for its size. The beam is well-balanced between flood and throw, making it great for both close-up work and distance lighting.✔ Great Battery Flexibility – Works with both AA and 14500 batteries, which is really convenient. The 14500 battery delivers full brightness, while an AA battery still provides a decent output in a pinch.✔ Long Runtime – On low mode, it can run for over 30 hours, which is fantastic for extended use. Even on higher brightness settings, the battery holds up well.✔ Durable & Lightweight – Built tough with an aluminum body, yet light enough to wear comfortably as a headlamp.✔ Magnetic Tail & Clip – The built-in magnet is handy for hands-free use, and the pocket clip makes it easy to carry.Any Downsides?Honestly, not much! If you’re using an AA battery, the brightness is lower than with a 14500, but that’s expected.Final Verdict:If you need a compact but powerful headlamp with great battery flexibility and long runtime, the Wurkkos HD12 Mini is an excellent choice. It’s bright, well-built, and packed with useful features. Definitely a solid 5-star product!

Lightweight and versatile headlamp
This headlamp does everything I need it to do and more. It’s lightweight for long term use, but still bright from the many LED’s. It also had red LED’s to prevent as many bugs from flying around when working outside or camping. The USB-C charging is convenient and works well to keep the battery full and ready to go. It works with both a 14500 and AA battery for emergencies. The button also is nice since it’s made of metal and has a battery level indicator light.Im glad it comes with a pocket clip for when not being used as a headlamp. You can clip it to a pocket or backpack. Overall, a versatile and lightweight headlamp that feels durable for all kinds of uses.
