Fundamentals Of Fluid Mechanics

Likely you are purchasing this book for a class and not to start some new hobby in fluid mechanics. This is one of those books that has helped me in very surprising ways both in work and in life. It's a pretty serious, technical text, but if you are not faint of heart it's a pretty good book .

To make this review quick I am a engineering major so as you can guess fluid dynamics is a required corse. F.D.M. is the designated book for this class. It gets the job done. Examples are thorough and clear. Plenty of problems to work out. Buy this book if you need it.

This is exactly the text I needed (because of course, no one's going to order Fundamentals of Fluid Mech. by accident). I ordered directly from Amazon with this one, as opposed to one of Amazon's associated vendors. Because I ordered from Amazon, I received the book a day or two ahead of their projection (which is typical), and the book was packaged with care to preserve its new condition (which is also typical). I plan to order some other texts from Amazon very soon, and do not mind paying the extra $4 or $5 to order DIRECTLY from Amazon, because of their reliability and quality of goods. I was also very pleased with the Free Shipping option which only adds 1 or 2 days to the delivery time at most.

Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics gives an in-depth explanation of each concept covered. The problems following each chapter are congruent with what was taught. The book also comes with an electronic resource which allows the user to view movies and end of chapter exercise answers. All in all, this book and the included materials make learning the subject fun and easy to do.

I over estimated my intelligence level when i bought this text book.

Way cheaper than the current edition and, as far as I can tell, the same.

I bought this textbook so I wouldn't have to pay the University's terrible prices (more than twice the price actually). I received the book in the exact same condition advertised, very promptly, and for a much better price... I'm very pleased!

The book is pretty well written for an engineering book. We have only found one incorrect answer in the back so far. The supplemental materials are very helpful and insightful like the website with the videos and examples. As with most books with a code they put the cd holder in the front with just a code in it which wont come out cleanly so it wont interfere with the way the pages lay which is quite annoying. Overall I think it is very useful for an introductory fluids book.
